  1. Happy New Year! Hi, I'm back after a lengthy Christmas break. Thank you for the above tips which were very helpful.
  2. I will attach some pdf files with pics of the pages. I hope that you will be able to see the sequence of the way the TOC is mis-arranged.There may be some duplicity with the pics as I wasn't sure how they would open up for you. I hope this will be helpful. And thanks again for your help. 3. Ok, I have the numbering and fonts straightened out but now for some reason, my pages come out in the TOC in the wrong order. To try to fix this, I have totally deleted the TOC, fixed the font settings and all that, then reinserted the TOC and even though I have the cursor set on the first page (which in this case is page iv), it places the first page on page vi, and has pages three and four on page iv. What am I doing wrong or how to fix this?
  4. Thanks a lot! That worked except now my page numbers don't stay at the right side of the page and only a part of them are given, the ones missing are for the subheadings. So now how do I edit that? (Sorry I'm so ignorant! Still learning.) And thanks for allowing me to get the pdf of your manual.
  5. Actually I have two separate documents, one is a student book and one is a teacher's manual with pages from the student book in a shrunken form. When I do the TOC in the teacher manual the headings and subheadings all change to a different text style. What must I do to keep the formatting of the TOC in BBOS tm the same as in BBOS. Compare the pages in BBOS tm 6,7 with BBOS 6,7 below. Adobe Scan BBOS 6,7.pdf Adobe Scan BBOS tm 6,7.pdf Adobe Scan BBOS TOC.pdf Adobe Scan BBOS tm TOC.pdf
  6. Back to the next step: How do I edit my text styles for TOC 2 to be the same as the text styles for TOC 1 or actually it's headings and subheadings?
  7. I have Windows 11. When I make a TOC update, the font changes from Segoe Script to Arial. What is the workaround? I wasn't following the previous instructions.
  8. So you're saying, it is not possible in Publisher, only in the Photo Persona (which I don't have)? I only have the Publisher Persona, so is there any way I can do it in Publisher?
  9. I want to do the exact same thing with my pic as with the Rubic's cube shown above. Can I do this with Publisher and if so, how? I have attached the file below that shows an outline map of the Latin American countries that are chiefly Spanish-speaking. I want to cut away the white background. Please tell me how to do this, if possible, in Publisher.
  10. I also am working with both English and Spanish in the same document, though not necessarily in tables. Is there any way to have Publisher recognize two languages so that I don't have so many preflight errors?
  11. if I have my present Publisher program on a Windows 10 and buy a new computer also with Windows 10, can I transfer my program?
  12. Thank you ever so much. The grouping technique, which was new to me, works perfectly to do what I needed to do. Twila
  13. hi, Garry, and thanks for your reply. I'm sorry "Life" has kept me from replying sooner. I understand what you are doing in the video; that is similar to what I'm wanting but not quite. I have attached below two screenshots which show what I'm wanting to accomplish. Screenshot 6 is what I want to convert to screenshot 5. Is there a way to do this without having to resize each text frame individually? Thanks in advance, Twila
  14. I have several text and/or picture frames on a single page. Is it possible to group these and resize them proportionately without having to resize them individually? If yes, please give me the steps.
  15. Thank you very much for that answer. I think I resolved the problem. But another question raised in my mind by your above statement, What is the pasteboard?
  16. On a masters page, there is an unwanted text frame that I wish to remove or possibly relocate but it does not show in the layers panel. Also, I am unable to pick up on that frame by clicking and/or double clicking over the frame. How can I locate that frame?
  17. Aha! That was what I was doing wrong! Thanks so much for the correction. 😊
  18. I have a book with 260 total pages, 32 sections using Masters A, B, and C. Pages 1-240 use Masters A & B in portrait orientation (all pages numbering correctly). I made the remaining pages using Master C with landscape orientation as a totally separate document as they are charts which I wish to place as an Appendix. I have set up Master C with page numbering to begin at 242, starting on pg. 1 of that section. The problem is: it repeats 242 on all subsequent pages (should be pp. 242-256, starting on p. 249 of the Publisher). What must I do differently? Thanks, Twila P.S. As you can see, there are two failed attempts to upload a file showing my master as I had it setup.
  19. Hi, here I am almost a month after your wonderful explanation...Somehow I overlooked the email notice letting me know there was an answer...so here's my THANK YOU for your time. Twila
  20. I am trying to achieve the pic on the right from the two pics on the left. in a previous post I was instructed to use the blend mode and then get rid of the parts I don't want. I am working in Publisher as that is the only persona I have. What tool or tools do I use to get rid of the unwanted parts? Using the crop tool doesn't get it... As I am still a newbie, please give me step by step instructions. TIA Twila
