Hello,
"You can turn it off via Edit > Preferences > Performance and uncheck Hardware Acceleration. "
Seems to work, I will check tomorrow. And my PC has a Geforce GTX.
Thanks
Carsten
That worked for me, too!

I can't get any of the preset crop modes in AP (1.8.3.641) anymore. Unconstrained and Original Ratio still work, but when I switch to Custom Ratio and then click the Settings icon, I get an empty window. Strangely, the mode changes to 4px x 3px, which I can overwrite. But overwriting doesn't have any effect, the window is still empty and next time I use the crop tool it is back to the 4 x 3px.
I tried several simple JPGs without any prior editing.
Any ideas? Thanks!

1.9/1.9.1 Hardware acceleration related crashes in AP

After updating to Affinity Photo 1.9 (Windows 10), I couldn't open any new or existing files until I unchecked Edit - Preferences - Performance: Hardware Acceleration. After that, it worked fine.
Yesterday I installed AP 1.9.1 and re-enabled Hardware Acceleration out of curiosity, but run into the same issues: stuck while opening, no way gracefully exiting the program. Screenshots attached.
Disabling HA solved it again.
Lately, I've been using Affinity Designer 1.9 (now 1.9.1) a lot. Never had a problem although HA has always been enabled! So, this should rule out any driver versions or Win 10 settings.
Maybe my observation helps troubleshooting?
