Thanks very much. This is one of the worst I have come across. But having that banding of over development creates problems.

It doesn't look like a colour-cast problem as the backgrounds all look very similar.
In No 3 the editing has warmed up the subject though the middle photo is a lot warmer.
Are you absolutely sure that the On1 and Affinity Photo images have the same colour profile?

If you are having problems it is either your hardware or some other background program doing something that programs should not do.
As for photoshop 20 years ago, you must be dreaming or smoking something hallucinogenic if you think it is better than Affinity Photo.
And Photoshop has never been close to only $50.
Before you start bagging a product make sure it is the product causing your problems, because it makes you look stupid when you make false accusations.

Scanned microfiche documents can be very noisy and generally a pita to process.
Can anyone suggest a workflow to process them to reveal the wanted information.
Preferably the written information with a light yellow background.
I have included a sample jpg file.
On the righthand page near the top is Elizabeth Rice 80 and at the bottom the family of Isaac Rice 55 with wife and 4 children.

I'm also getting into astronomy and are interested in using infinity photo for processing FIT formatted images. This is definitely a market for Serif. Once word gets out that there is an alternative to Photoshop.
