  1. I often use the fill tool to apply a pattern to a rectangle. While the handles are really quick to try different scales, it seems to me that there's no way of knowing exactly what percentage of scaling I am looking at. Same applies to rotating the pattern (again using the handles): I'm not able to establish what rotation angle it is. While a workaround to this could be using clipping masks instead of the fill tool, this is not always viable (e.g. with patterns that have a small repeat block, think checkers like the example below) and anyway much slower and prone to mistakes (as I would have to manually place multiple copies of the repeat block if I wanted to fill a bigger space), while with the fill tool I can use the wrap setting which is super useful. Am I missing something? Attached example: the top left is the original repeat block so it's 100% with 0° rotation, but I am at loss regarding the other 3 as I can only eye guess it looking at the handles (which of course is even more difficult with more complex patterns). Edit: actually the top left is not even the original, as it was upscaled to fit the square, so again it would be helpful to see the percentage of scaling without having to do the math.
  2. Thank you for your reply. I see...hope the new version will be released soon, I managed to find a (pretty tedious) workaround yesterday, but won't likely repeat the experience XD
  3. Hi, I am experiencing a serious issue with Affinity designer. I have a vector shape in Affinity designer, in a group with another shape. I add some texture to both shapes by using gouache brushes in the pixel persona. Then I come back to the designer persona and duplicate the group with ctrl+J. The pixel layers then disappear (or better they are still there, but won't display). I thought it may be just a visualization issue, but if I try to export the file to PNG they won't display. Even closing and reopening the file doesn't help. It doesn't happen sistematically, sometimes I have to duplicate it multiple times, or rotate/transform the copies. The original file I was working with where it first happened had several copies of the group, but then I created a new file with just one shape and it still happens so it seems a bug. I attached this new file in case it may help, and some screenshots of the issue. It's honestly the first time I try to do this so not sure if it might be a bug with the latest update or what, but it's seriously frustrating and disappointing as this kind of operations working with vector and raster layers are supposed to be one of the main benefits of using Affinity... Is there any way to fix this? Thank you very much. test.afdesign
  4. adding to this, another thing that seems to often cause unresponsiveness is moving brushes from one category to the other.

  6. Obviously now that I want to make the dump file I've been painting for 20 minutes already without problems...I'll make sure to post this next time it happens
  7. I recently got affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher extended trial version. I have been mostly using Designer, but I had also tried Photo for at least a couple of days without experiencing crashes. Anyhow, I decided to buy them. Then the update came. I am not sure if that is the cause, but now affinity photo becomes unresponsive on each and every session, without any recognizable pattern. It doesn't even go in not responsive mode, but everything stops working and I can't do anything but force closing it from the task manager, as even pressing on the close button doesn't work. Luckily the recovery files seems to be working quite well, but it's really frustrating. Am I the only one who experience this? I am almost thinking to ask for a refund since I'm still within the 14 days
