I create and use a lot of vector textures in my design process. The only way I've found so far to subtract geometry/textures from vector objects (e.g. text, logos, shapes) is to first flatten the layers of the textured group/layer with the "add" operation, then "subtract" my newly compound shape from the object below (text, logos, shapes) in order to achieve transparency through my logo or text shape with my desired vector texture. This is all a workaround for what is usually a simple task in Illustrator, but that's a different topic. The biggest problem right now is simply adding the complex geometry together which a lot of the time takes 20-30 minutes to add together. For comparison this only takes a minute or two for Adobe Illustrator to complete the same task. Is this because I'm using an old Mac Pro from 2010 or do others have this same problem? I'll post my computer specs below just in case.
