  1. I don't entirely understand what you're saying, but I downloaded your file and while I'm NOT able to grab the entire contents of an artboard and move it, I CAN grab any group within an artboard and move the group, no matter how or where I grab it. (Mac Big Sur) Can you do a screen recording of what you're trying to do? I've gotten a surprising amount of mileage when folks see what I'm trying to do in a short screen capture vid.
  2. More information will help you get help. Which program? Photo, Designer, Publisher What is your operating system, Windows, Mac, or iPad? Did you download the update from the same place you bought the original app? That is, here at Serif.com or in the Apple store or wherever.
  3. Mac Big Sur with Photo and Designer v1.9 the new border/fill color chooser now has microscopic icons for "no color" and "swap" Are they supposed to be so very very tiny? (The images are 2X size.) Also, hows come Designer has a donut for border but Photo has a solid circle? I realize that a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds (RWEmerson!) but this consistency would not be foolish.
  4. Sigh. Just realized this wasn't my imagination and came to report it. Perhaps remove the feature from the menus until it works?
  5. Same problem here: CMD apostrophe does nothing. No OS shortcuts interfering. Shows on the menu, works from the menu, but the keystroke does nothing whatsoever. I created a shortcut for View | Grid (CTRL OPT CMD apostrophe) and it works fine. I tried to reset that to CMD apostrophe and it refuses to acknowledge the keystrokes. The field simply remains highlighted and empty. However, adding any other combination of modifier keys (SHIFT, CTRL, OPT, one, two, or all three) with CMD works. Seems to me the app's refusal to accept they keystrokes to create the shortcut is a clue. @markomatic Note that, for me, the custom shortcut CTRL OPT CMD apostrophe works perfectly.
  6. I use the Transform options in Designer eleven times a minute. Almost. One of the few places I've gotten used to mousing instead of a keyboard shortcut. Is it possible in some secret way to add them to the Photo toolbar? I don't see it.
  7. Not NOW! Later! When I'm cranky! Fer cryin' out loud. Kids these days. GET OFF MY LAWN.
  8. A sale for no reason is poor marketing, and probably justifies crankiness from loyal fans. In this case, a perfectly valid and strongly altruistic reason for the sale is given, making it sound perfectly reasonable. In this case, setting the price is easy: do what you like because it's motivated by generosity caused by world circumstances. So, good marketing, that.
  9. Though I already own Designer and Photo for Mac, this email nudged us to buy 2 copies of the iPad version. It also reminded me why I like dealing with Serif instead of some other companies. Not many folks out there cutting their (already preposterously low) price in half. I have some mighty cranky days now and then. Iffen I ever sound like the fussy old curmudgeon I might actually be, please feel free to give me a frowny-face and remind me to cheer up.
  10. Very interesting (and solved the problem I came here to solve.) I'm still curious WHY it happens. The article explains what is happening, but I'm hoping that understanding the cause will help me troubleshoot other quirks down the road.
  11. Excellent. I love having the font hover preview back; I work with typography a lot.
  12. Logged into my computer this morning and Designer Beta had crashed. No file was open, just the app sitting idle while I slept. Affinity Designer Beta_2021-01-12-073429_Galway.crash [same again a few hours later] Affinity Designer Beta_2021-01-12-113434_Galway.crash This time, the machine locked up, then crashed. I was trying to open the Paragraph window just after opening the Character window, after the last crash. I'll not be continuing with the betas. NetworkingTopic_2021-01-12-144303_Galway.diag
  13. On my dual-monitor Mac, all dialogs still open behind the tool panels on my secondary monitor. Tedious to have to move every dialog, every opened file, onto the other monitor. If this is not where bug/non-implemented features go, please point me in the right direction.

  15. I'd upgraded to the new version but was told elsewhere that they were expressly for M1 support. However, I'd fogotten the betas. I'll see what they do for me. I know Big Sur has been a bugbear.
  16. Lots of crashes in both Designer and Photo since I updated to Big Sur. Attaching the only crash reports I can find. For the life of me I can't find older crash reports. Of course, I have no idea what was happening here and what I was doing, so these may be of limited value. 17. I do not but this may help: https://support.retrosupply.co/article/67-how-to-install-affinity-brushes-directly-to-the-ipad-app Holler if you get stuck.
  18. I'm working on a set of tree brushes . . .
  19. Doesn't that make them hair brushes? ;)
  20. That made Best Beloved and I laugh. You are most welcome, @Deme727
  21. Had to look to see what the Appearance Panel was. It was not open, and I suspect it has never been open. Though the rest of the process is what was happening, if I recall correctly: pixel layer, vector brush, undo, crash.
