  1. Which app: Designer, Photo, Publisher? Is this a Windows computer or Mac? Can you upload an Affinity file with this problem in it? A Word doc won't really tell us much.
  2. In the attached I've done it, but the patches are clearly visible. Can't figure out the correct method or a workaround. (At each red arrow, the yellow line should go under the blue; at all other intersections it should go over.) 20210522-over-and-under.afphoto
  3. This time it was not immediately after adding a Recolor adjustment, but there was one. And it was not the Add Noise filter but the Halftone filter. Affinity Photo_2021-05-19-164332_Galway.crash
  4. I think it happens after adding a Recolor adjustment layer. Affinity Photo_2021-05-15-221314_Galway.crash
  5. Affinity Photo_2021-05-13-113343_Galway.crashAffinity Photo_2021-05-09-161023_Galway.crashRight. Forgot the crash reports.Affinity Photo_2021-05-07-170040_Galway.crash
  6. Add live noise layer. Moved the dialog box, leaving a second dialog box behind. Closed the first/moved box, then when I closed the second box Photo crashed. Attaching a shot of the adjustment layers I was working on top of.
  7. Could not reproduce this just now, but since the last update, when I add noise, then move the dialog box, another dialog box is left in the old/default position. Closing that dialog box crashes photo. Mac Mini Big Sur, dual monitor, AP 1.9.3
  8. Here's how to do it without an internet connection: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/132059-webp-roadmap/&do=findComment&comment=742301
  9. No problem. We're exploring. There will be some blind alleys. What's your machine? What version of the OS? What monitors? I'm on a Mac 2014 Mini, Big Sur 11.2.3. Main (left) monitor is Viewsonic VX3276-FHD, second (right) is a Viewsonic VX2858Sml, both at 1920x1080.
  10. I don't understand this. What's the value of the panels and toolbars disappearing? The tab key will do that, but they're still on the same monitor/desktop as the new document. Not at all trying to be difficult here. If there's a solution, I'd love to understand it.
  11. Tried that early on. (I have multiple virtual desktops on each monitor.) It moves the entire app to my primary monitor, meaning all the dialog boxes are now on the wrong monitor. And new documents open behind them. Same problem, just on a different monitor. If I choose a desktop, this is what happens. If I set it to 'None', this is what happens. Seems like the solution isn't MacOS based, but I'm open to suggestions.
  12. Is there a way to kill the confirmation dialog so every time I delete from the palette, it doesn't require right click move the mouse to click Delete move the mouse to select OK move the mouse to delete the next unwanted color Ideally, I'd love to simply drag unwanted colors off the palette, boom done.
  13. I hate using the mouse for anything on the panels. I only want to use it on the drawing.
  14. Tedious as in, at least once a day, but usually a few times: Open 20 documents. Click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard), click (mouse), move-window-shortcut (keyboard). Also at least once a day: Do something Wait for the dialog box. Wait more. Get tired of waiting and wonder what on earth is— Oh, there it is. On the other screen. Blending in with the tool palettes. Finish process. I know that dual-monitor Mac users are a small subsection of overall users. I've had my mild rant so I'll be off to get something done now.
  15. So you're suggesting efficiency and organization. Interesting approach. I have been lazy about using the Affinity tools tidily. Good reminder to step back and review and revise my workflow. Thanks @firstdefence. I'll let you know how an efficientized version of the file behaves.
  16. Toggling Invert is instant for me as well. Toggling all layers to visible took 15 seconds. Zooming to 100% took about 4. As of today, there's essentially no delay in anything else, so perhaps the wombat that lives in my computer was gnawing on things yesterday. No reboot, running pretty much the same apps as I was yesterday, and it's all different.
  17. Making any change to color or layout resulted in a painfully slow screen repaint. This should be interesting. 20210309.afphoto
  18. does not compute ;) I used to have a Photoshop subscription but never worked on anything large; all web assets. all I have now are AD and AP.
  19. @v_kyr Would drive speed affect screen repaints when I zoom, move, or recolor something? I had, though, stepped outside reality for a moment and forgot that Big Sur is new, AP 1.9 is new, and the M1 Macs are way too new. Maybe I'll try that patience stuff I've heard so much about.
  20. Brief overview of one possible method, assuming they are segments of concentric circles, meaning they follow the same arc, and ending with a pixel image, not vectors: create a donut to match the innermost arc. give it an hole radius of 98%. duplicate it. increase size by 10%. change hole radius to 97%. repeat as often as you need. use geometry to add them together. make a selection top-aligned with the image using the circle marquee a bit smaller than the outermost donut to slice off the edges like your example. invert the selection, rasterize everything, hit delete. You'll have to play with the numbers to make it exactly what you want. I just made these up as a quick demo. If you need a vector version, I'm too tired to sort out steps 5 and 6 but someone more experienced or awake can certainly help.
  21. @Old Bruce Erm, okay, in Designer, which I didn't notice you used until after a bunch of searching. But it works, and I always have both Photo and Designer open, so this is my solution. @loukash Problem with the Erase blend mode is that it erases all the way to the Earth's core. I just need to cut out one layer, so the layer underneath shows through.
