Helvetica Neue Although Helvetica is a paid font owned by Linotype, it's available for free on every Apple Computer and is simular to Calibri.

All the above formats have been around for many years and there are lots of reasong why companies like Adobe do not generally support them so dont get caught up in google hype

Hi Please tell us what verion of Affinity Photo you currently have because 1.6.7 is now latest for Mac OS X version of Affinity Photo only and available from the Mac App store.

My vote would be for the first image as looks brighter and more sharp. IMO details stand out more

Dont know what sort of pictures you take, but try say taking a raw picture of some local scene. then practice changing the different setting licke colour balence, shadows an highlights and contrast one at a time and go with sliders from one extreme to the other and see how each affects the image. Then set what seems pleasing to your eyes. Editing a picture is all about taking picture from camera and either making it look more pleasing to the eye or perhaps making it more dramatic there is no right or wrong and no one can tell you exactly how to do it you just need to experiment.

You need to be logged into the Mac app store with the same userid you originally used to purchase product then click on updates if you still cannot see any update then try to reboot your Mac as I have sometimes had problems with the app store an found a reboot of laptop rectifies problem

You could try doing a levels adjustment but switch to CMYK and then switch master to magenta and with black slider reduce the magenta colour in picture and then do the same with yellos

there is a youtube video will help search "Affinity Photo Gradient Fade to transparency" and just use a black and while copy image want to use instead of the colour as in video

Hi I am running Mac versions of Affinity Designer and Photo on Mac with Mac OS 10.12.3 and dont see this problem. Affinity is showing the pdf file text as being Arial which it is a standard Mac font.

Also have problem that Affinity Photo 1.5.2 beta 4 says expired and cannot find any mention in Forum of a beta 5 or or MAS update

I like the layout only thing worries me is with the Black background your pictures get lost in the black and fail to stand out. Try a dark grey back ground to improve how the particularly B/W images display.

There is a know issue with DNG files and the Serif Labs raw engine. Try in developer mode going to VIEW - Assistance Manager and change the Raw Engine to "Apple (Core engine RAW) then restart Affinity Photo and should find can then see the image.

Hi Pruus I think you will find looking at your little video that you are selecting new document type of "photo' so you see standard photo type sizes if you change the new document type to "print" then you will get all the A0 - A10 international paper sizes. Hope this helps

HI I need some help have been using AD and AP the Appstore versions on a Macbook Pro 2011 for some time but have recently using a time machine backup moved everything to a Macbook Air early 2015 model. Today I tried to open a jpg image with AP (1.4.2) and while the image shows up in the navigator panel bottom right can get nothing to display in main window have tried clicking zoom to fit still nothing. Then I started AD (1.4.2) and tried download and open one of the sample images and again nothing displays on main window. So I then deleted both applications and re-installed from App Store but I still get the same issues. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is. Regards Chris

Hi MEB I did go the System Preferences and in the Extensions section checked all the Affinity extensions but it only show "Miniaturise, Monochrome, Liquify, I have also rebooted the Macbook and stll the same. btw I am running OS El Capitan.

Following install of the latest beta (1.3.5.7) I find that the Apple Photo extensions now only show "Miniaturise, Monochrome, Liquify," There no longer being any Develop and Dehaze both of which are mentioned by Andy as being in this new beta.
