Wow, this thread is something else. For the people defending this feature not being in the program, there are FREE photo editors that have this feature. No excuses, especially when there's a thread with people still commenting after 4 years.

I'm very, very confused. I downloaded Affinity Photo last week (trial) and today I went to crop a photo by selection. To my surprise, it was not possible. Ive been doing this for years in MS Paint, Paint.net, GIMP, Photoshop, and any other image editor that I can remember. Why is this not an option in Affinity Photo? Its very odd. I was hoping that Affinity Photo was the software Ive been looking for (great price) but its missing such a basic feature, I'm worried its missing other features as I learn this software.
Why would is this feature missing? Its been 3 years since this thread was started.

Simple gripe of the day? This thread has been going on for nearly 4 years...1,396 days to be exact. This is a standard feature available in many image editing apps, including Photoshop, MS Paint, Paint.NET, Gimp, and Paintshop Pro. The kicker is the most basic programs, like Paint and Paint.NET, have this feature.
