I have a few clipart subscriptions. Periodically, I'll download an .eps file that has a grid behind it to represent that the image has a transparent background. How do I get rid of that once I download it? I'm told you can do that with Adobe products. I'm assuming it's the same here.
I've tried deleting the background layer but that doesn't really do it either.
I've attached 2 screenshots to show what I mean and to show what happens when I remove the background layer. (The white one is the one AFTER I've removed the background.)
Thank you. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure this out to no avail.

I have disabled it. Unfortunately, I deleted the file I used but it happens often enough that if should happen again, I'll let you know.

I'm trying to open an .eps in Designer. As of this point, it's said "loading 1 document" for about 10 minutes. Although this doesn't happen all the time, it happens with enough regularity to make this app close to worthless (although it usually "only" takes a couple of minutes instead of 10 + counting).
TBH, I'm not even really sure it's loading it as all the menu items are available while this is happening - except for Quit. It won't let me quit saying, the app is loading a document and can't be quit until it's loaded.
It even lets me load other documents while it's doing it's thing.
What gives please? How do I get past this? (I'm now waiting 15 minutes. I've forced quit and tried again twice; same problem.)

Count me in as someone who wants this feature. Many times I'm doing some down & dirty icon design where I'll find a part of an image in a document and then select that part and want to remove everything else. I don't care if it's destructive as I "save as..." Please add this feature. I'm willing to risk "destroying" my original to be able to use this feature (besides virtually every other piece of software does it).

Hi Stokeg
Thanks for your prompt reply
For batch processing I can select the macro and clicking the apply button brings it up in the Applied Macros box but OK is not highlighted so of course clicking OK has no effect
As I said I cannot apply a macro to a single image either unless I right click then left click on the selected macro
I'm using a desktop Mac, screen shot attached
Thanks again
I'm glad someone posted this screen shot. I've looked all over and cannot find what the "A" (with all the check marks below it - shown above" is for. In the Affinity Photo help that comes with the app, it doesn't show the "A".

Hey All - THANK YOU so much. I've posted on other forums for other software over the years and rarely - if ever - get a response. You all really helped. I was concerned that when my trial ended, whether this was the correct software for me. However with support like this, I'm converting from trial to paid.
Hope to see you around the forums some more as I have a load of other questions.
Thanks again.😀

I have searched all through help and I cannot find a simple method (such as in photoshop elements) to simple say "convert image to grayscale."
I'm new to Affinity but I'm not an accomplished Photoshop user; I'm hoping this will be simple.

How to I get rid of "transparency grid" on eps images?

Thanks; I wondered about that. And yes, one of the subs I have is freepik (which has lots of images that are called .eps but are really rasterized, which drives me nuts). That said, it seems to happen with others too.
