Filling AI Templates with Bitmap

Redemption Rising posted a topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

I have 30w fiber laser. I purchased a bundle of templates that they were designed in AI. When I open them the grid shows behind. So I clicked the node tool and closed the curves and then clicked Join curves. But when I go to fill the inside of the template with a bitmap it fills the template line not inside the template. HELP!!!
