Thanks Dan, Apparently only type created with the frame text tool can be adjusted with the above keyboard shortcuts. The type I was working on was created with the Artisitic Text Tool. The difference in tools usage/application is?

Is there a "live text option/keyboard combo" allowing you to see type edit changes as you do them, without having to continually hit the return key? For example, in PS you can "live view" edits such as line spacing changes via the "option-arrow key up/down". The ability to view type/font aspects such as line spacing, sizing, and charactor spacing as it changes "blow by blow" is essential for me as a designer. Thanks!
