    Hi guys
Can please someone tell me how can I edit "smart object mockup" in AF?
Like in this video for PS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxTge8fHbW8
All mockup's that I have are made for Photoshop so they are using smart objects to place our designs so after I open mockup and try to edit them by opening that layer in new tab like I did in Photoshop nothing happens!  I simply can not find way to edit that layer in separate tab which is crucial for my work!
This really makes things a very hard for me because I use mockup's all a time and I can't just use "place image" option and add more layers that I will adjust on spot, because it make things a lot harder then to just edit "smart object" like I did in PS.
If you could show me how can I do this in AF, that would be a life saver!
    Thanks

I consider myself as a most devoted fan / ambassador of Affinity software. I use it every day. And all my friends are tired of me recommending it.
And the Smart Object feature is the most wanted and most asked one.
    I absolutely agree!
One of the developers wrote on this forum that AP does not have the Smart Objects functionality because developers can not figure out into what to convert smart objects.
I personally can not understand this explanation. Actually for me this is not an explanation but an excuse.
AP has Embedded Documents functionality. And it works just the same as the Smart Objects.
And I can not accept that it is impossible to import a smart object and convert it into an embedded document.
@GabrielM, please tell us that Affinity team is going to consider this feature update. We are ready to wait for it even for years.

There are also Mockup-bundles for Affinity, as for example here on this german site, their video shows how to use those in Affinity Photo ...

Agreed. Though the reality is, will we ever see 'better' and if so when. I was a bit of an AD fanboy, but the feature timescales are unbearable, for some.

Personally, I’m of the opinion that many of us essentially knotted our own noose by relying for far too long on Adobe, their tools, their methods, and their files.
While I agree that being able to at least read Smart Objects would ease the transition away from Adobe, what I would prefer from Serif is something even better. I have no idea what "better" would mean in precise terms, but perhaps it would make the tasks of editing and switching between Affinity apps even more enjoyable. I think this entire concept that is like a cake that’s still baking in the labs at Serif.

I agree with ikon. Repeat last action would be nice.
    Thank you 😀!

    All,
Remember to check the help/status bar along the bottom of the window for things like this...  it shows all of that information when you point at the nodes.

I can change a node from smooth to sharp via a modifier key but not vice versa. To change a sharp node to smooth I must go to the pen tool, drag out the handles and then go back to my other tool, albeit I change tools very quickly via my own shortcuts. However, changing tools is a much slower process than simply using a modifier key. I hope you can add this feature sometime in the future.

Silly question, really but I thought I'd try anyway:
Is there a possibility to assign a key shortcut to Repeat Last Action to any action performed ?
For instance : similar to the cmd+J for duplicate ?
If not (and I suspect there isn't) maybe add it to the Features request list ?
