  1. When saving files, I get a file corrupted have to close. I have had trouble in the past with corrupted files but this seemed to have been solved, but now it has returned and seems worse with Affinity 2. This is intolerable as much time and work is being lost. Please advise
  2. Dan C Thanks for getting back to me. No crash report files were found? I have turned off hardware acceleration and this seems to have help. No recent crashes when cropping. I still am having problem with the program hanging. My impression that his is most often when saving or working with large files. This can lead to corrupting the files . My guess that this is related to too large files or too many files open and memory management. But this is just a guess. Is memory management a problem with Affinity Photo? What can be done short of upgrading the computer if this is the problem
  3. I don't know what happen to my original post but this was it: I also have been having frequent crashes recently. This was never a problem in the past so not sure what is going on. I have been exploring Capture One as a DAM to go along with Affinity Photo. However, the crashes are occurring even when Capture One is not running. Many of the crashes occur when cropping and image. Attached is a saved image that when I now try to open crashes Affinity before it even loads. I have been losing a lot of work and time with this as generally the files or work is not saved as a recovery file. Any insights greatly appreciated. Note that I was not able to load the file which causes a crash when trying to open. I get unexpected server error. Upload failed! I got one reply suggesting to turn off hardware acceleration I did and it seemed to help. But just now crashed when adding a brightness layer. Very frustrating!! Any suggestion? Thanks

  5. I not infrequently have problems with not being able to read saved Affinty Photo files. They loads just up to near the end of the load point and them come up with the message failed to load, the document appears to be corrupted. The file appears find on the canvas and all the layers appear displays in the studio. This is very frustrating with lots of lost time. The most recent file that this occurred with isn't particularly big (~600mbcard 2 - set up for printing a.afphotocard 2 - set up for printing a.afphoto). How can I repair corrupted files? What is causing this and how to prevent? Appreciate help with this as it is both frustrating and a source of much wasted time!! I have attached the most recent example of this. Thanks
  6. When I save a photo that I have load into AFFINITY publisher and then save it, it gets an ".afpub" extension compare to when I load and save it from Affinity Photo where it has an ".afphoto" extension. Is there any difference between these? There is a slight difference in the size (1KB)? For printing on my printer, will I get the same result which ever file I use?
  7. I total agree with this comment. I not that SERIF stated years ago that it was working on and going to release a DMA for Affinity Photo but never did and in recent times has not said anything about this. What is happening along these lines. I note that some user recommend using ADOBE Bridge, but this requires saving each image twice (once in AFFINITY photo and other in JPEG or some other format) if one wants to be able to view and search processed images in Bridge - this is cumbersome and a nightmare to ensure that the jpeg version viewing in Bridge matched the last of ones edits, etc. Also, means that unless save in high resolution there is no way to view as a final slide etc. I have invested a lot of time to learn AFFINITY Photo and Affinity Publisher. For the most part think it is great. I really don't want to switch to PHOTOSHOP but the lack of DMA and the limitation that it imposes may force me to change. So is AFFINITY going to produce any DMA software in the near furutre? Or alternative are there any plans to pair up with an existing one by makings its file format visible? Hoping for an affirmative on this.
  8. When using merge visible at the top of my layer stack, I get a small but notable change in brightness and a shift in the histogram in mid-tones. I am using version 1.8. Is this normal and why? Thanks Tom
