  1. Everything in Windows explorer is set correctly, and displays all other preview compatible files just fine. The exception of course being Affinity files. Flushing the thumbnail cache would only fix issues with the smaller thumbnails, and not the larger preview window. As that loads media on demand when it is selected. This is a fresh installation of Windows, as well as a fresh installation of Affinity Designer 2. This issue was not present in V1, and only manifested itself after V2 was installed.
  2. Yes I am also experiencing this issue. Not only this, but the file-type badge on the thumbnail is just completely missing for affinty file-types now. Its making sifting through my work files annoying, as my project files just look the same as any exported images or assets. These worked just fine in V1.
  3. Honestly, I do think the whole 'lock' function needs to just be brought in line with most common art apps. That would help both in this case, and countless others.
  4. Oh of course! I mean no ill will towards them. Software development is no easy feat. But as its software I use daily to pay my bills, I feel its important to express my feelings on the matter. The lock function in AD is indeed odd when compared to other software. The way it works just doesn't feel as intuitive as it could be I feel. Other programs do indeed prevent ANY action on a locked layer.
  5. As it stands now, the select features are a nice addition, but are frustratingly all encompassing. They really should let you limit its scope as far down as to a group. While I can see the benefits to having it select things across your entire project, it certainly shouldn't be the default and only option.
  6. The way AD handles its "layer" system makes it really hard to explain doesn't it? Especially when you flip flop between raster and vector apps in your workflow xD. I'm referring to group layers I suppose, not individual objects. The "Layer" that's created when you use the "new vector layer" button at the bottom of the layers palette. AD already allows you to limit the scope of many tools interactions to group layers via the "Edit all layers" toggle in the layers palette. So I feel like that would be a natural thing to apply to the new select functions as well. I do agree. The addition of it at all is ultimately a plus. Its just a little disappointing that, as it stands now, its usefulness is frustratingly just out of reach for me.
  7. The new 1.9 update added quite a few neat new features, however, I feel like this one could use a few more tweaks to make it even more handy. It would be amazing if we could have a toggle to limit the scope of these selection functions. As right now they simply select EVERY matching object in your entire document. While this is useful in its own right, its a bit of a nuclear option. I feel like having a toggle to limit the scope of these to say, a layer, would make them amazing for a wider variety of applications.
  8. Apologies, sometimes I'm not the best at explaining things like these. I wish for it to just be a small little dockable panel. The popup color panel is great, but its an extra step, and takes up more space than it needs to when I just need to fiddle with a single little slider.
  9. Yes, I am aware of this. However, you cannot resize or dock it, so I find it a little less than ideal for working quickly. In my workflow at least.
  10. Hello! It would be fantastic if we could separate color sliders into its own floating window/dock. This way, we could have access to both the color wheel AND color sliders. While I understand the logic of lumping them into the same panel, having to click a tiny little menu button, and then switch the panels setting is a bit annoying when you just want to slightly tweak a color. Having the ability to access both would just be so much more convenient for doing coloring work. Programs such as Clip Studio Paint have this feature, and its a major boon. Attached is an example of what I'm asking for in case my wording is a little confusing.
  11. I would 100% be on-board with this. As is, using floating windows is just painful. Especially when you accidentally open a new file when your last focused window was a floating one.
  12. Well that would certainly explain why it opens as such a large window by default. My second monitor is 1920x1080 where my main monitor is 2560x1440.
  13. Hello! Floating documents are a great feature in any creative app, they're great for references, seeing your document at a different size, etc. However, the Affinity suite of apps do a very frustrating thing when a document is opened in a floating window. If you already have a floating window, and a new document opens in that floating window, it will MASSIVELY resize it. Sometimes becoming even larger than the monitor it is on. It would be amazing if the size of a floating window was locked, so that it does not automatically change when documents are opened within them. As it is right now, the feature is nice, but leaves me pulling my hair out in frustration as I constantly have to resize windows to make any use of it. Example 1 shows how I might use a floating window. In this case to quickly preview an image at a smaller size. Example 2 shows what happens if open a file within that floating window. Bloating to an enormous size, and needlessly going completely off the screen on the bottom and right.
  14. Its very disappointing that this issue still exists. I understand the tough times, but this is a pretty serious issue with a main tool. Is there a time-frame as to when this bug will be addressed? I would like to be able to work on the go, and this issue really prevents that with my Surface Pro.
  15. Can confirm this does fix the issue, however, disabling this setting on a Microsoft Surface disables the touch gestures as well so its definitely as band-aid solution. I'll be testing this out on my Cintiq as well when I'm home from work. Here's hoping this gets fixed soon!
  16. I'm experiencing the same issues as you, as well as other problems. Can't terminate with a double tap, nor change node type mid drawing with a single tap.
  17. Thank goodness, I'm not crazy. I'm having the same issues. In addition to this, its almost impossible to change a node type while drawing with the pen tool. For example, when you wish to follow up a curve with a straight line, you click on the node once to swap it to a point. This is currently not working. You also cannot double click to terminate your current curve, and start a new one. I am using a Wacom Cintiq 24QHD. With how my workflow is, this bug is a pretty annoying one. I hope its something the team can resolve soon.
