I love AD, but I can't believe that Affinity Designer has not yet implemented Multiple columns of text yet in its beta 1.8. It is a basic implementation for a "designer"
Will we have to wait for version 2.0 to be able to work professionally with AD or will it continue to be a complementary tool for Adobe software?
Don't tell me that Publisher has this ability that I already know the story.

Yep, I think @RainerH is requesting the features from the text frame studio in Publisher. Makes sense!

I can't understand why a feature, that's includet in Publisher isn't available in Designer and vice versa? To draw a Object an then create a text-Object an put it over the 1st object is 20 century technology (or earlier). All other Vector Grafic Programms are able to edit Textframe and includet text separatly. When Serif was developping Designer haven't they never thougt about this essential feature?

Working with swatches I've observed these little additions would be very useful.

    Ability to...
1.- Select multiple swatches from color panel when no object is selected; so you can quickly delete, group, or move swatches between pallets.
2.- Delete selected swatches with keystroke.
3.- Create color groups inside a pallet, kind of like how groups are displayed in layers panel. This would help with organization and is more intuitive than jumping between pallets.
4.- UI visual aid to indicate if the color shown in stroke/fill is global, spot or overprint.
5.- UI visual aid to indicate if loaded in eyedroper is global, spot or overprint.
6.- Preview color chords before commiting them to the pallet.

    Other color-related suggestions:
1.- Apply global color to object when sampling  with eyedrop tool from an object with global color. Currently, when you copy the global color from another object, it is a non-global version of that color.
2.- Linked colors (as described in others posts).

Sorry, don't agree. I find them quite nice.

I agree. In general the interface needs major changes.

Just a emotional thing, I find all the  tool icons (like brush, ....) in affinity looks a bit dated. I would really enjoy an makeover in this regard. It just doesn't look like a cutting edge design program for me, even though it is one.

I agree that they may look a bit childish (?).
Far more of an issue is that some of them look too similar, I think.

But in general: If the same manpower may be used either for new icons OR for bug-fixing I will opt for the latter.

    kind regards
    Fritz
