  1. I guess, different strokes for different folks. I just like colors in ACR better than in OW, find them more detailed and more natural. briefly tried C1, but also didn't care. I used the old Olympus Master software though back in day in 2012 and was satisfied. when I got my first Pen in 2011, I liked the colors, the contrast and the whole in-camera JPEG engine. then the love faded away, I even got a Canon for other opinion on how it all should look. and now back to Olympus, but still dislike vendor's rendering. I actually recall that back in day ACR was bad as you're describing (and it's still bad with my Canon) and I actually was surprised that it gives me good results with my new Olympus. it's great we have lots of software to choose from for different taste. I know, Affinity Photo's RAW engine is young and not sub-par yet, but just dreaming in feature requests forum that someday it would be better.
  2. yeah, I have it for updating firmware on my camera. totally not keen with RAW processing, ACR gives better results to me. and yes, focus stacking in OW doesn't work for my lenses, but in Affinity it does. so for now I need both ACR and Affinity Photo to process my photos and just was dreaming that someday I could use only Affinity Photo. what was your point?
  3. I'm pretty sure that the default for it is 'as shot', i.e. camera's automatic WB. shooting color temperature is part of a RAW file. in ACR default is 'as shot' as well, but there is 'auto', i.e. the software analyzes the image post-shot and tries to guess the correct WB.
  4. @walt.farrell thanks for welcoming and tips. only vignette. lens correction seems to be spot on for me, compared to ACR and camera JPEG. not yet sure on fringing correction, but geometry correction is something that should be on default for micro 4:3 lenses (and perhaps other modern lens systems).
  5. Hi, I'm recently trying to move from Adobe products to Affinity Photo. currently I use both, as find the RAW processing in Affinity Photo sub-par yet. wanted to share some quick thoughts what could be improved: 1. when I process my ORF files, somehow the image is a bit wider than in viewfinder or camera JPEG, or processed with ACR. it's good that Affinity Photo has those extra pixels, but could we please default to the image dimensions that match camera JPEGs and allow user to get extra pixels on request? 2. I miss 'color profiles' from ACR. the ones that are 'adobe color' or 'adobe portrait'. I also think they have some special sauce to it, as I find colors from ACR more pleasing. 3. no auto WB? and no 'pick color in image to be white'? seriously? 4. could we please default lens vignette correction to off? it's good that Affinity Photo has this, but most time I like my pictures without this option.
