Um Im not sure what the difference would be between putting on the canvas or on the Artboard, either would be fine. And not sure what the pasteboard is. Thank you for the image, i didn't notice the little page icon down there before it appeared to be greyed out but still works. But so how would I do the click and drag one? as this would be a lot more useful for me as I can snap it to an exact location, rather than just typing in a number. And can I not move already placed guides?

Oh it was artistic text tool. And it was the whole text or object selected, so should've worked. I tried the other eyedropper and that worked, and then since that, it now works the other way... I seem to get a lot of intermittent bugs lately

Join curves is greyed out when it shouldn't be
ronanski replied to ronanski's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Yea both curves are defo selected, but yea it does seem to be a very intermittent problem. Very inconsistent. join curves greyed out.mov -
When I have text selected, whether with the text tool (highlighted) or the selection tool, I cannot choose a colour via the eyedropper. It just deselects the text when I click the eyedropper.

I have 2 curves with end nodes on top of each other. I have both nodes selected and yet join curves is still greyed out. I literally did the exact same thing seconds before and it worked fine.

I also am having this same issue -
Just tried exporting as PDF, and the lines are still there when opening in acrobat. Not tried printing yet as tucked up in bed atm, but I presume it will show up on print as well. I cannot seem to upload the file atm, the link 'choose files...' doesn't seem to be responding when i click on it and I've tried refreshing the page several times.

Hi, I am aware there is a mild glitch with lines appearing where some elements of a design meet even if there is no stroke, it even mentions it in online tutorials but to be rest assured they will not print. And you can normally check the lines are not really there by zooming in and they don't get bigger with everything else so just a glitch on the screen. And I have not noticed a problem when printing before, but I recently made some placemat designs that needed to be exported before printing and the lines appeared in the exported version and then even when printed even though they don't exist in the design. Is there any way to avoid this? as I don't really want random lines going through my designs in future.

Boolean operations not working, just delete all curves
ronanski replied to ronanski's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Hi, didn't entirely follow the video tbh, was abit quick for me. When you say merge, is that different to add? Well the only opperations I used were add and subtract so cannot fathom how the extra curves got created that weren't attatched Oh well I know kinda how to rectify it if it happens again, just quite a nuisance. But even if the shape was infinitely small, shouldn't I still be able to see a stray node somewhere? -

Well no thats what I was saying, the extra curves weren't there until I divided. But then why didn't it work initially as I had previously tried? I hadn't used divide at that point. -
Boolean operations not working, just delete all curves
ronanski replied to ronanski's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
No I made it in Affinity. They were the result of combing about 5 or 6 shapes but once combined shouldn't it then be one curve? And as for things not matching up exactly, everything was snapped to place, but not sure why that should matter anyway as they were all added not subtracted apart from the circle which is clearly within the lines of the larger shape so cannot see how it is possible for the triangle to have been created. And I don't get why I had to subtract the circle, divide it and then subtract it again, shouldn't the original subtraction have done it? But also does that then mean you cannot combine groups of shapes? Cos that wasn't a problem in illustrator. Cos I made all these as symbols so I could see how it would look without having to keep copying and pasting and deleting etc. So to combine them all do you always have to go through ungrouping and dividing them all first before combing them again?! Luckily this symbol was only repeated 12 times, but if it was say a background pattern then something that should take 1 second would suddenly take about half an hour! That's ridiculous! -
Boolean operations not working, just delete all curves
ronanski replied to ronanski's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Im confused, because before I do the divide function it is only one curve. I had already combined it into one shape. And the circle has already been subtracted from the leaf shape as you can see the whole in the shape when it has a fill. And where did the triangle come from? that seems to have only appeared after performing the divide function. So I am still confused why it doesn't work. But thanks for the tip, this did work although very long winded, not sure I would have been able to do that if it were a more complicated design. -
The boolean operations do not seem to work hardly ever now. I just want to add some simple shapes together, and I cannot get it to work. There doesn't seem to be any consistency when it does and doesn't work either. Sometimes the same. I have checked all shapes are closed with no stray nodes. Any help or workaround much appreciated. And any fix on the horizon as I have noticed this problem has been reported since a while back with no solution. Did try adding to that thread first but no reply. snowflake.afdesign

I have this problem too! it happens all the time! It only seems to work occasionally if i only select 2 objects, but iv got an image now with about a hundred that i want to unite so cannot do that individually and it keeps disappearing! I know I am doing it right because I do the same thing with just a couple and it works fine. So is this a bug?

Hi, is there a way to centre printing in the centre of the page? I want to print an image on both sides of the paper, but when I do the centres of each image don't line up, there always seems to be a bigger margin on one side. I remember with adobe there was an option to check where the centre of the image was in relation to the centre of the physical paper before printing and adjust it if necessary, is there an option like that for printing in affinity designer?

shear isnt the same as skew. I need skew to adjust the perspective of an image. Shear just squishes it one side or the other
