  1. Hi Ernest, Unfortunately there is no way to change the default tool the program uses when it opens. However this is something that has been requested a few times so it may be added in the future. C
  2. Hi Arundel22, At the moment this plugin does not currently work with Affinity. However we are working hard to improve plugin support so this may change in the future :) C
  3. Glad to hear that its working now :) If it comes back let me know! C
  4. Hi Nes61, Could you please try developing your Raw image with the assistant turned off? To turn off the assistant please click the butler icon at the top right of the App then un tick enable assistant. Once you have done this please restart the App and then try developing your RAW file. C
  5. Hi Dougier, Welcome to the Forums :) Could you please apply a filter to one of your projects and if it doesn't work attach that project to this post along with the name of the filter you tried to apply? Thanks C
  6. Hi Connie, If you go to Document > Resize Document and change the units to Inches it should resize without cutting any of your picture off. I hope this helps :) C
  7. The Add Button not adding shapes correctly is something that our developers know about and are trying to resolve as soon as possible. It seems to only happen with shapes that have been drawn and then rotated. I removed the top rectangle and drew it horizontal instead of rotating it and the Add Button worked fine. I have re attached the file with the changes I mentioned above. C add tool.afdesign
  8. Could you attach the file that this is happening in so I can investigate this further? C
  9. Hi jackamus, I have created a video showing me setting the pressure profile for the pen tool and then drawing an ellipse with pressure applied to it. I also quickly show what other tools can be used with pressure in this way. Unfortunately Pressure profiles are only saved in documents and not in the App however it has been suggested before so it may be implemented in the future. Sorry that there is no sound on my video I don't have a microphone so I am unable to add voice over to the video to explain what I am doing. C Pressure tools.mov
  10. Hi Tiago, You can combine shapes by highlighting them and then at the top right of the App you can click the Add Button. I have included a screenshot just to make this a bit clearer. I hope this helps :) C
  11. You can't save your Pressure Profile as a brush. But you can apply it to brushes or strokes by selecting the Brush Pencil or Pen tool and then going to the Stroke Tab clicking Pressure and then clicking your Pressure Profile. C
  12. Hi Monika, Welcome to the Forums :) What I would advise you to do is to look at some of our Affinity Designer tutorials as whole as you said there isn't one that goes over vector design. However the tutorials will help your understanding of the tools within the App. This would make the creation and design of your logo easier and better. I have also found a video of one of our users Mystrawberrymonkey designing a logo in Affinity Designer. It may be worth watching that so you can pick up on the tools he uses and how he goes about creating the logo. The second half of the video is about animating which shouldn't apply to this so I would recommend only watching the Affinity Designer part. I hope this helps :) Our tutorials . Mystrawberrymonkey's video on designing a logo. C Edit : Also what Tiago said!
  13. Hi Jackamus, You are able to save Pressure Profiles by clicking save profile at the bottom left of the Pressure Window. However the Pressure Profiles are saved into the document and not the program. Once you have created a Pressure Profile you are able to apply it to a brush as long as the controller is set to pressure. I hope this helps :) C
  14. Hi Suesy6652, Welcome to the Forums :) The program not quitting when you hit the red x is by design and isn't a bug. A lot of Mac programs actually do this if you open up Pages and then hit the red x it will close all windows but leave the App running. If you right click the Affinity Icon at the bottom of the screen and then choose Quit it will exit the program without needing to force quit. If you left click the Affinity icon at the bottom of your screen you will notice the menu bar at the top of your screen will change to the Affinity one. Here you can open or start a document without having to restart the program to get the interface back. I hope this helps :) C
  15. Hi Evtonic3 It sounds like the file was created and exported from Illustrator. EPS files normally exported from Illustrator will contain many bitmaps and a comment containing a copy of the Illustrator document. Illustrator ignores the EPS part and opens the Illustrator document, this explains why Illustrator is able to open the EPS file and edit the text while Affinity can only open the EPS part of the file and not the Illustrator document. This causes the text to be rendered as curves and become in editable. C
  16. Hi LiLLOPH3, I have tried one of the keyboards you have shown in your picture and it is working fine for me. I am able to adjust the brush size by holding one of the [ ] keys. An alternate shortcut that will work for you is to hold down the CTRL + ALT/Option keys and then hold left click and move the mouse left or right to adjust the size of the brush. I hope this helps :) C
  17. Hi DaLo111, Welcome to the Forums :) This is not currently possible within the Mac App Store. However you are able to send someone an iTunes gift card for the exact amount of the App. You can see a post on the official Apple support forums about this here. C
  18. Hi Madmax45, The different gradients on the green screen made this a lot more difficult as it is not a solid green. I have made a video using tools not covered in my above instructions as it made it easier with the type of green screen used. I have also included our official tutorials that go over the different tools I used as they are a lot better than the video I have made . Selection tool tutorials <- This tutorial is more of a general how to but it covers exactly what you are doing. My video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wg8fcbilylttn7g/Girl%20on%20bridge.mov?dl=0 I hope this helps :) C
  19. Hi Madmax45, Welcome to the forums :), To get rid of the green background I would use the Flood Erase Tool. This can be accessed by holding left click on the Erase tool and selecting it from the fly out menu. Once you have Flood Erased the background you may notice there is a little green left around the person or object that was on your green screen. To get rid of this left over green I would use the Defringe tool. This can be accessed by going to Filters > Colours > Defringe. With the Defringe window open you will want to click part of the left over green screen and adjust the sliders until it is no longer visible. Once that has been done your green screen will have been fully removed leaving just whatever was in front of the green screen behind. You can then copy and paste the object into a new picture or file. If you are still unsure attach one of your green screen images to this post and I will try and make a video for you :) C
  20. Hi Arundel22, It will always work :) It just means you won't get any updates after the free update period. C
  21. Hi Coreh, Welcome to the Forums :) Please could you provide a screen capture of your issue so I may investigate this further? C
  22. Hi Explorer84, Welcome to the Forums :) Is your Document Type set to CMYK or RGB? If you go to File > Document Setup > Colour and set the Colour Format to CMYK it should export with the correct colours. I hope this helps :) C
  23. Hi Mcsandberg, Welcome to the Forums :) If you hold left click on the paint brush in Affinity Photo you will find the Pixel Tool in the fly out menu. This tool can be used to edit individual pixels without the splashes of grey. Holding CMD while using the Pixel Tool will make it act as a pixel eraser allowing you to removed the pixels you have drawn without any splashes of grey. If you are using Affinity Designer the same tool can be found in the Pixel Persona. I hope this helps :) C
  24. One is a Photo Editing program and the other is for graphic design and vector creation :) You didn't specify which of them you had so I gave you instructions for both. C
