    Hi Mike, If you go to Affinity Photo > Preferences and then go to the Keyboard shortcuts sub menu. In here you will see 2 drop downs on the lefthand side. Make sure that the top one is set to Photo and the bottom one is set to Layer. In the list below these drop downs you will find a line that reads New Fill Layer. Set your own custom shortcut for this and you will be able to select something and then fill it using your shortcut. Please note however this will create a new fill layer every time it is used. I hope this helps :) C

    Hi Gnurf, Welcome to the Forums :) If you Export the file as a .SVG and then bring it into Illustrator the Gradients wont be rasterised. You can then export it to EPS while in Illustrator close the files and re open the newly saved EPS and you will find that the Gradients still haven't been rasterised :) I hope this helps C

    Hi LabGoat, Welcome to the Forums :) Is Affinity slow when you don't import the .AI file or only when that file has been imported? if you find that it is only that one file that is causing the issue would it be possible for you to attach it to this post so I may look into this further for you?     Hi AcousticPond, Welcome to the Forums ! With the Pen Tool or the Node Tool selected holding Alt and clicking an anchor point should turn it into a sharp corner. You will know when this has happened as the node will become a square :) If for some reason that doesn't work you can turn the node into a sharp node by clicking the Sharp button in the Convert menu (see attached) I hope this helps :) C

    Hi Tom, The final persona in both Designer and Photo is the Export Persona (see attached). This persona allows you to select an area and then only export that area :) I will include a tutorial for this feature below! I hope this helps. C

    Hi Ed, Welcome to the Forums :) You should be able to purchase the apps through Apples VPP website found here.     Hi Busenitz, There isn't a keyboard shortcut to add a tint or shade to a shape I'm afraid. I would recommend making a post about this on our Feature Requests page however as it would make a great edition to the app :) C

    Hi Smbranch, Welcome to the Forums :) There isn't a tool that is exactly like the Magic Extractor in Affinity but there is something very similar. The Below tutorial will show you how to use the Selection Brush along with the Refine selection feature. You will have to copy your selection into a blank document however unlike the Magic Extractor this wont remove he unselected parts of the image. I hope this helps :) C

    For Designer it will have to work with vectors so it will work slightly differently than the Perspective tool in Photo, it falls under mesh warp/distort tool on our Roadmap. Anything on the Roadmap should be added before 2.x :) C

    Hi Rickfoy, If you position your text over your image/shape (please note shapes may need to be rasterised) and then in the Layers panel hold CMD and left click the thumbnail of the text you should see that the text becomes selected. If you switch to your image layer / shape and then press backspace it will remove the selection from that layer which should leave you with the shape of your text cut out of the image :) I hope this helps :) C

    Hi Bill, There is nothing that would generate the lines automatically for you in the app I'm afraid. The closest thing would be the Power Duplicate feature that Alfred mentioned. C

    Hi Wayne, Unfortunately Affinity can only run on OSX 10.7.5 it isn't compatible with Snow Leopard or previous versions. C

    Hi Pyroaxis, Welcome to the Forums :) Please could you go to View at the top of the program and then go to Show Tools towards the bottom of the menu. Ticking Show Tools should bring your tool bar back on the left side! Hope this helps. C

    Hi Digbydo, To set the size of your document go to the top left corner of the app and click the document button. From here you want to make sure that the padlock is unlocked ( can toggle wether its locked by clicking it) and that the Units drop down is set to pixels. Then type in the size you want (1400 x 1050) and click the resize button and you should notice the document change slightly. Now to export it as a jpeg go to File > Export then select jpeg and click the Export button. Please let me know if you have anymore issues or need more help :) I hope this helps :) C

    Hi Gumbo23, The crosshair appears for when you are drawing a new text box, to edit an existing one so that you are able to highlight the text within it you will need to switch to the Artistic text tool then click inside the text box you want to edit. This should allow you to highlight your text :) C

    Please could you hold down the CTRL key while opening the program you should find a reset menu will appear. If you click Select All and then Clear the program will reset to defaults. Hopefully this will solve your issue :) C

    Hi Der, Welcome to the Forum :) Once the Designer trial has finished you are unable to open it again so I would recommend uninstalling it by dragging it from your Applications folder to the Trash. The AppStore is currently the only place you can purchase the app it isn't available to purchase from our site. Let me know if you have any other questions :) C
