[Best format to import in to Affinity Photo]

Hi fellows, I only have had some experience with Lightroom and when importing files I always worked with RAW/DNG formats. Is it the same thing when importing files to Affinity Photo? I think I've read in the forum some other people change RAW on to other formats before importing? is this correct? which one is the best format to work with? Hi, new to the forum and very new to Affinity Photo as well. Being editing with Lightroom 6 for a little while as I couldn't afford the current subcription's cost and Photoshop presented the same problem and made it impossible to consider getting too. When I've heard of Affinity Photo and how affordable and powerful it was I bought it.  Now I after watching tutorials I still can't find one that would take me through the most simple manipulation to the more complicated editions. Could anybody be able to help me with links to the most basic tutorials that would allow me to build upon them please. I am one of those individuals who learns through visual and repetition.
