I have the same crash with v1.8.0.585, any news on an update or fix?

I am unable to load v1.8 of the tool on Windows 10 1909 loads splash screen and then stops, i have heard this is caused by fonts, but this is a brand new PC from Dell Alienware so should only have default windows inbuilt fonts

my userFontloc shows the following.
I could load Affinity Designer, but not Photo, i tried clearing the fond cache as detailed above and immediately after i managed to load affinity photo once, but then the usse re-appeared and now i cannot load either app. really need this back as part of my workflow.
