  1. TBH I also wait for this feature for quite some time. I am using Affinity Designer anyways, but mesh gradient would be so nice to have instead of relying on Inkscape to do that one thing :).
  2. Hello there... I thought I'll share palette that I use daily. It is designed to work in 15 columns. Full spectrum in steps, 3 saturation levels, 5 brightness levels + grays. It's intended use is to make illustrations using precise colour picks rather than guessing on the Colour tab. Knowing the construction of the palette one can ride it to get all sorts of blends, gradients and contrasts. KozalussColorAll.zip
  3. +1 ! Folders would be great! It would also be great, if folder would be toggled on off and also export was organised into those folders on disk! Having multiple designs in one file - really hard to manage slices then without folders :).
  4. Hey! The trick with Colour Overlay is amazing - thanks a lot! 💜 Although where do I find the "blend gamma"? 🧐 I am mostly concerned with opaque objects, so this method is more than enough to make me superhappy until it gets better without the trick.
  5. It works better, but still not perfect solution: a) there is that outline slightly visible still, b) working with this kind of masks is a bit of a chore really. I mean - why couldn't the Devs improve this? I understand there is an engine under the hood and changes like this would require a bit of restructuring to still keep it fast enough. But come on there! You can do it, I believe in ya Devs! ;). But Your advice mr OldBruce is still a good advice, I'll try to use this on my next picture.
  6. Very well - if this helps. I've made a simple example of basically the same thing, as described and shown in picture in original post. Left side - fills grouped and clipped by curve - outline visible. Right side - fills group rasterized - outline dissappears - desired result. Again - I'd like to have the effect on the right without the need to rasterize my fills. :) ClippingAntialiasGroup.afdesign
  7. I've been thinking a bit about this proposed feature and maybe it would be good, if this was a checkbox on the group - meaning if You do not check it, it is rendered the old way. If you check the box, the group is rendered as a whole before it is clipped. This way the old way of fx and blending is preserved, and for those, who want clean picture with appropriate clipping - the option is there. Secondly - I can not believe that this post got no traction at all. It is unthinkable for me, that other designers haven't smashed theirself into this. More so that on Affinity group on FB I see more and more graphics with this artifact clearly visible. Maybe I should post it in bug reporting section instead, because for me it is more bug than a feature unfortunately.
  8. I second that - so annoying. Whenever I paste FX I have to manually get through all parameters and fix them :/. There should be a switch - paste with scaling or not. Or at least use the switch which is on the FX dialog.
  9. Hello there! I've been using AD for over a year now and this problem still bother me a lot. And I think there is a pretty simple solution that could be implemented by the devs. Scenario - I have a shape. Then I fill the shape with different colours, gradients, brush strokes and so on. The problem is, that at the clipping area antialiasing mechanism draws all the inside fill elements one by one creating an awful outline. The only way to get rid of it is to group the fill elements and rasterize. But I really really do not want to rasterize everything, as this is not the way vectors should be done methinks. Rasterizing and leaving a copy unrasterized and hidden is just too much work. This unwanted effects shows up in every mode (normal, pixel, retina and in exported graphics). So my proposal is so that whenever some objects are grouped, they are rendered offscreen as a whole group, and the clipped - just like I would rasterize and clip, instead of clipping every shape there is separately.
  10. Hello there. Just wanted to add, that I have the same issue with Win version. It would be best tho, if we had a switch on the toolbar, which would enable/disable scaling on paste style/paste fx. This way when I want it to scale, it would scale. And when I do not want that - which is in most cases - I would turn that off. I think both options are useful.
  11. Hello there... Still dreaming of mesh gradients, but... Lately I came up with an idea, that could really be helpful, so please consider the following... In Designer there is an input box for colour selection - for stroke, fill, gradient point, effect color (like highlight and shadow in 3d or bevel). But it is a limitation to only be able to pick single solid colour in these instances. So... It could be really helpful to be able to choose a layer (layer, group, curve - something from the Layers list) to be a colour (and opacity) source. It would be good if there was an additional option to not show this selected layer on the canvas, but use only as colour source; or maybe copy the layer and place as child of the coloured layer similarly like the pixel mask appears. This way we could have different highlight colour, different gradient point etc. in different areas instead of one solid colour. Regards MK
