[Affinity Designer crashes when I drop assets onto the canvas]

I just installed designer today, is that not the latest version?

I just installed affinity designer and opened my first document.

There is a panel on the left side of the screen titled Assets (misc, controls, keyboards etc).

When I drag and drop an icon from my assets onto the canvas the software crashes, this happens every time without fail.

Any help would be much appreciated
