  1. Many thanks Komatös, I followed the instructions in the post above, I downloaded afreg.cfg and pasted it into: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Designer/ and relaunched. It now works just fine. Many thanks.
  2. I purchased my copy of Designer in November 2021 but am unable to login to "My Account" I recently re-installed designer but still cannot login/register. If I click "My Account" I get the "Register your app" window first, followed by: "Please wait a moment" window and then the "We're sorry" window. I should add that I do not have this problem with Affinity Photo which I also have. My system is MacOS Catalina 10.15.7. Any suggestions please? Regards, Brian
  3. This is now September 2021, the problem has not been fixed, the fault is def Affinity photo! I use an iMac and have opened several files numbered consecutively, for example IMG_4993.jpg through to IMG_4999.jpg, I opened them both with ACDSee and with Finder, the files are opened in a random order. There is a lot to like about Affinity Photo but also a lot to be displeased about! Come on Affinity this fault was flagged in November 2018! You never seem to bother fixing the smaller bugs.
  4. Hello, I use several crop presets on my Mac desktop version of Affinity Photo and want to copy them to my iPad version. Could not find and details of how to do this, any suggestions please? Thank you, Brian
  5. Ok thanks, hopefully they will come up with a fix.
  6. Hello Gabe, I am currently using a mouse, I have used a trackpad in the past, I am not sure how it responded then.
  7. There seems to be a problem with the macros in the library panel. I have around 10 macros I have recorded, all are between one and three processes, just simple stuff to do with size, applying fill etc.. The problem is that they sometimes run from the library panel and other times do not, even when they do run it is often after several clicks or double clicks. This action is unreliable and quite flakey. I can run them from the macro panel but this is a vey clunky way to use the macros as I need to apply the macros to several photos and have to keep moving back to the library panel, then click edit for the macro which takes me back to the macro panel where I can run the macro. Is there a fix for this bug? I am using Affinity Photo version 1.8.6 on an iMac running Catalina Version 10.15.6 Thank you.
  8. Clearly the support staff do not read the posts on this forum so who do I contact to get this question answered? In addition to my concerns about the very flaky behaviour of the macro facility it sometimes crashes the program if you select edit macro! Come on Affinity you can do better than this! you have taken my money after all!
  9. Yes that is the same problem but why has it not been fixed? given that the post was from 5 months ago there should have been a patch available by now, or do the Affinity support just not care? I bought Affinity Photo as a replacement for Photoshop which has "Actions" which are superb. I was told that I could use Macros to do the same job, it has a major bug which has not be addressed after 5 months!! Come on Affinity when are you going to fix it??

  11. I have been using Affinity Photo on my Mac in place of Photoshop for a few months now. I must say that in many ways I am finding it easier to use and with some features it is definitely superior apart from one major drawback! Most of my photography is of antique violins, each violin has a set of 10 photos, I change the background colour always to the same colour by using the flood select tool and then filling with the foreground colour. Unlike in photoshop which would remember tool settings from one image to the next, in Photo it reverts to the default for the flood select tool which is 20% and New, what I actually use is 4% plus Mode Add, this is very frustrating as I have to reset it for every photo I am processing. I would like to request that in a future update tools retain their last used settings, especially with the flood select tool. Alternatively make an ini file available so that the user can set the defaults to reflect the way they work. Regards, Brian
  12. Many thanks for the info, I will fill out a feature request as you suggest. Brian
  13. Thanks for your reply, as to my first point. Maybe it is something the developers could think about for a future upgrade, it is pretty clunking when the various tools do not remember the last used settings. I often have to process 5 sets of photos which is 50 photos so very frustrating to have to change it for each photo, even if there was an ini file where one could tweak the default 20% to 4% would be helpful!. Regards, Brian
  14. I have been using Affinity Photo on my Mac in place of Photoshop for a few months now. I must say that in many ways I am finding it easier to use and with some features it is definitely superior. I love the crop tool for which you can set up ratios and then just select the appropriate one from a drop down, also the "straighten" ability within the crop tool. I still miss Photoshop "actions" but you can record macros and achieve a very similar result. There are however two situations that I am finding extremely frustrating but I accept they may just be my lack of understanding of the possibilities of Photo. Most of my photography is of antique violins, each violin has a set of 10 photos, I change the background colour always to the same colour by using the flood select tool and then filling with the foreground colour. (1) Unlike in photoshop which would remember tool settings from one image to the next, in Photo it reverts to the default for the flood select tool which is 20% and New, what I actually use is 4% plus Mode Add, is there any way to change the default setting? The major difference seems to be that Photo treats every image as a separate document rather than just a set of images as in Photoshop. (2) The second issue is with the replacement background colour I use, how can I add this colour to a Colour Swatch or Pallet so that I can just select it from a default swatch from within any one of the 10 images? I appreciate I might be approaching this problem the wrong way but the two points above are quite frustrating when you have to re-set both the tool and the colour for each of the 10 images in the set! Any suggestions much appreciated, Brian
  15. Hello, using version 1.8.2 I experienced the same problem, I opened a jpeg image, used the unsharp masked to get the sharpen just right, clicked apply and the image went back to the unsharp state as soon as the unsharp mask had closed. However I have just downloaded the upgrade version 1.8.3 and the problem seems now to be fixed! Brian
