Trying the beta now

Update: I also downloaded 1.73 now and this exhibits the same behavior. I did some more testing and it seems to be random. Sometimes it launches. Sometimes it doesn't. Mostly it doesn't. Even when it crashes, it manages to let me know there is a new version available. Seems somewhat similar problem to this person? Also I am using a VPN and I currently live in China so a lot of my Internet is crazy blocked / throttled.

I just got Designer and Photo as trial versions. I'm considering migrating from Adobe products. So far I'm not very impressed, however. Neither programs will launch. I get a Splash screen. I get a window asking me about the product key. I select the trial / continue trial. That window disappears and I'm back to the Splash screen. After a few seconds the window of the program becomes visible. The Splash screen window disappears but is still there in the task bar. The program window has no buttons or menus (see image). It's just a grey box with the icon in the top left corner and the window controls in the top right. Nothing happens for a good 45 seconds or so. Then everything disappears. I get the same behavior on Designer and Photo. Interestingly, on my second try, Designer somehow launched just fine. It was working perfectly. So I thought my initial crash was just a fluke. I got it wrong. It is not working anymore. I'm using a Surface Pro 2017 Intel i5-7300 @ 2.7 GHz 8GB RAM Windows 10
