Please, we need a shortcut to hide the bounding box. This is so essential. All the mentioned workarounds are just that: workarounds. Please :-)

I totally agree. It's a feature in photoshop which especially comes in handy when designing for a website. But also with other projects. It would be great if you guys could implement this function. Thank you.

Hide shape handles whilst applying Layer Effects

I'm trying to put a semi transparent rectangle over a bunch of images. I'm experimenting with the layer blending. Each time I change the layer blending the bounding box is reappearing. This is really annoying. So I absolutely agree with moefinley: Spacebar is not enough. Please add a special function for this with a shortcut. Thank you. -
I absolutely agree. It is a basic necessity. Hiding the selection box via the spacebar is a unsatisfactory workaround.
