The 1.8.1 update just arrived for me and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks very much Affinity Team. (Mac using latest version of Mojave)

Just to be clear, the update you released to (among other things) improve plugin support, has broken plugins? I hope the update to the update comes quickly.
