  1. Sorry, my fault as I was not very clear. I am sending this to a company that will be printing onto boxes and packaging. They don't have Affinity Designer. (I'm tempted to buy it for them, but they're in China and I don't know if they'll want to use a new tool).
  2. They keep telling me that they need AI format, which Affinity Designer doesn't output. I've been sending them PDF, EPS, SVG... and i get complaints that the fonts aren't there or the images are pixelating, etc. I was hoping that there was some known format that gets close to AI format to prevent them from losing any needed resolution or have any other issue.
  3. Very good explanation. Thank you. I will see if I can provide them with something that preserves the font, the vectors, and the images, in those formats without rasterizing the font and vectors, and then ask them to add an emboss effect at their end, before printing. What format do you recommend for that? PDF?
  4. Hi. I need to send a vector format file to my printers. They asked for an AI file, but I don't have Illustrator, and don't want to have it (it took me a lot of work to remove all Adobe crap-ware from all over my computer and I don't want to reinstall any Adobe products). I think my best bet seems to be to send a PDF file. I think SVG format impacts some of the images in my document that are not vectors, and EPS didn't work for them. The problem though, is that when I do a PDF export, I lose the embossing effect that I added to the layer via Layer FX: Can someone help me figure this out? What format would preserve my vectors/fonts, handle my images and also allow me to add an emboss to them all? Thank you!
  5. All files are saved locally, mostly in one or two folders, some in the Downloads folder. I could replicate it that day, as I tried reopening different files and they were all wrong. Today, after just launching AD, I could not get it to replicate.
  6. When I try to login, I am asked to give permission to Microsoft and/or Affinity to "READ MY EMAIL"?!, "SEND MAIL AS YOU"!"READ MY CALENDARS"??? WTH?
  7. AD 2.0.4, running on Ventura 13.3.1a. I closed all my AD windows/tabs yesterday. Today I wanted to open a single file from yesterday. I went to the Open Rent menu, and selected that file. A different file opened. I assumed I had miss elected, so I did it again. Another file opened in a new tab. I did that again in hopes to get the right file and eventually had all my tabs opened from the day before, but never the file I wanted. I ended up just opening the file from the Open menu item instead.
  8. The file is 1.1MB. No scrolling needed. No clipboard manager. I switch to the Pixel Persona. I use the Selection Brush to select the black area. Then I do a Copy. About a second later it crashes. I can send you the file privately as I don't want to share it with the world.
  9. I was working in Pixel Persona. I had selected a part of the layer that I wanted to cut and paste elsewhere. The cut would happen, but about a second later the app would crash. It's somewhat reproducible. CrashReport.txt
  10. I generated this file using the feisty.info box maker. It looks good elsewhere, but in AD, all the boxes have shifted sides, shifted text etc. I'm enclosing the original, and what happens after I open the original and immediately export it as SVG. What you get in the new file is what you see in AD when the file is opened. Any clues what I am doing wrong? Archive.zip
  11. It would be really nice if I could get the measurement of a complex curve, by tracing it, and then locking that new curve and unrolling it into a straight line. Where this is useful is if you are creating something on a laser cutter and which to add a perpendicular element to the edge. For example a box where the top and bottom are an irregular oval shape, and you want to make a wall for that box. You'll need to know the circumference of the oval in order to start creating the wall.
