  1. This is the most complete explication I ever received. Thank you for that.
  2. Hi toltec, when I start a new drawing, the setup I use is this: Do you mean, for the screen printing, I should change the DPI to 72? Thanks for replying. Luc
  3. Thank you toltec. I'll dig in deeper in that matter. Question: the photo you show, did you made it with AP? Or Illustrator?
  4. Thank you Fixx but I dont know what low lpi is. You also say it’s difficult in AD/AP. I think it’s a bridge to far for me.
  5. Bonjour Wosven, I'm glad you had fun making this drawing. I can follow all the steps you took to come to that beautiful result. Why are these in purple and others in yellow?
  6. Picture 1 is what I received, picture 2 is what I made with the help of this community (I'm very thankful)
  7. Ok! Good, I’ll switch over to Affinity Photo. I’ll let you know. thank you!
  8. this 'then add blend mode Overlay, 100% on the pixel layer, merge down and then go to the Threshold adjustment, i set it to 30% but you might want to play with the settings' seems to be too difficult for me. Although I'm using AD from the very very beginning and made more then 2000 drawings, I never went further than the things I need for these black and white drawings for the job I do. Sorry. But always ready to learn!
  9. due to the ongoing Brexit negotiations ... Funny! I like that carl. I downloaded the free brushes and had a notice that they are installed in AD. Where do I find them?
  10. I remember I could receive Frankentoon for free when upgrading to 1.6. I didn't downloaded these extras. Too late now I think.
  11. well done summersara. This is what is so great in this community. I'll follow the several steps. But I cannot find the free texture brushes on Frankentoon's website.
  12. Thank you for your advice. You know, Illustrator has that facility and a while ago Affinity was thinking about having this too, but they said they had so many things on the wishlist, so it’s not for tomorrow...
  13. Thank you toltec. In fact there are 3 things (you mentioned the capabilities of my printer): - the printer is one thing (its a HP LazerJet8150DN) - the paper (abezeta is polyester-based day light working, zero proces, dry-to-dry film for making plate-ready offset positives using a desktop computer and a laser printer.) - and the silk screen (how fine is the raster) I found a video here (that's not me, I just found it on youtube) that shows how it works:
  14. Which means, back to zero...Maybe a combination of black surrounding lines plus the way gdenby is showing?
  15. This also means you need a different screen for each colour. 5 different colours means 5 screens and then printing one above the other. in my case we print only in 1 colour.
  16. Halftones are not possible. It’s black or transarent. All or nothing. Inkt or no inkt. See https://www.art2silkscreen.co.uk/flatbed-tables-51-C.asp
  17. Whaw! This brings me to a level I never tried. I’ll take the time to learn using brushes. I’ll first make the drawing as alfred showed and then your solution wosven. thank you all! Luc
  18. Well that’s great! You helped be a lot!!! I now can go on with my drawing. Thank you! Luc
  19. Good idea! Is it possible for you to give me the several steps? Please? Luc
  20. Thank you gdenby, but I need to explain my problem. I tell you a bit more about the job I'm doing. The customer often gives me a drawing on paper. I put it on the scanner. Use that as the first layer and then I start drawing on the second layer etc. Because it's always black and white I don't have many problems. File 1 is such an example. On other occasions they send me an email with an attachment, which is nearly always a jpeg (see file 2). I use the jpeg as first layer and I start drawing on the second layer. Then I print it (A3) on special chalk paper. Which then is used to make a screen. And printing on t shirts etc. You see the big difference between the first drawing and the bird. I cannot use a 30 kb jpeg image and blow it up to the size of an A3. Too much grain. So I started like this (see file 3) but I guess the customer will not like it. I think I need the possibility of a sort of painting. What is your proposal? Thank you for helping me! Luc
  21. this is for screen printing on textile, so only in one colour (black). see the original and see what I made from it. How do I bring on the fading out black colour? Thanks all for helping me. Luc
