  1. Ok, Im playing the "software developer" card. I'm a software developer with some (albeit limited) knowledge of art. Affinity Designer is a tool I enjoy using for its power and overall simplicity. It's simply a good tool! That said, because I am a software developer, I find it difficult to believe that the code base for the mac and pc versions would differ that much. The ability to remove the nag is a very simple true/false check. Does user want update notifications? If yes, show nag. Its going to be dirt simple regardless of what the platform is. And since it has apparently been done for Apple, it should be a VERY easy process to put in place for the pc version.
  2. So, what I'm hearing is that the Mac version can disable it. Interesting. That means the functionality is there. Why is this not enabled for Windows?
  3. With Affinity Designer 1, there was a registry modification available that disabled the "An update is available" message box that appears EVERY time AD is started. That same modification does not work with Affinity Designer 2, and I was wondering how to disable the prompt. I'm surprised that (like most software titles) an ability to disable updates is not available in the settings. Thanks
  4. Is there a quick way to determine the midpoint of a straight line? I'm currently needing horizontal and vertical midpoints, but diagonal would be nice too. I've tried creating a horizontal line and editing using the node editor. I add a new node between the endpoints of the line. I'd like to see a dynamic vertical guide when dragging that displays when the new node is between the endpoints of the original horizontal line. Thanks,
  5. When specifying a color using the color tool (using latest Affinity Designer 1.7.3 ), how can I specify (or obtain) an actual value for the opacity? There is a slider which works fine, however there isn't any numeric value associated with the slider that indicates what percentage of the alpha value you're currently using. Also, the recent colors list doesn't appear to retain the opacity either. How can I input a specific value for the alpha? Getting the RGBA value would be fine, too. So, I just noticed that this behavior with the opacity not showing a percentage value only appears when using the "FILL" or "STROKE" options in the "Curves" toolbar. The dockable tool window with "Color, Swatches, Stroke, and Brushes" tabs shows the opacity percentage, but no hex value. Thanks!
  6. I'm also in the same boat here. I don't so much care about the capitilization. Instead, there is apparently NO way to determine the level of noise or opacity other than positioning the slider to "hopefully, the right approximate position." Even in your example screenshot, there is no value for noise. Also, there is no alpha value indicated in the hex value.
