I'm having this problem too. There are now several separate threads on this bug.

Glad to know I'm not the only one having this problem! I tried the default setting reset and that didn't work. I started a separate thread on this topic about two weeks ago and haven't gotten a fix yet. Affinity PLEASE HELP!!! Here's my thread:

I've also installed the update and it still crashing. I've tried other images as well and the same thing. How do I perform a fresh install?

So I downloaded the Beta and tried the same steps and it still crashes. Weirdest thing. Frustrating. FWIW, I'm selecting a small section of an image of a rainbow. Choosing the Patch tool. Marking the "Selection is source" box. Moving it to different part of the rainbow. Positioning the selection and clicking the mouse to put it in place then rotating the section to position it properly. Then clicking off the section. That's when it crashes. I've done this at a dozen times now with this same result. Any other ideas?

So Affinity Photo keeps crashing on me whenever I try to use the patch tool. Is this common? It will let me perform all the tasks I need up to finalizing the patch and when I click off the patch the program goes into spinning beach ball (mac) and then shuts down without saving the action. I'm at the point where I want to uninstall and reinstall Affinity Photo to see if that helps. Not sure how to do a fresh install. I've tried rebooting it many times, tried different photos, tried downsizing the file size. I'm out of ideas...you got any?

So, I'm getting a similar but different issue. When I copy a text layer that has effects on it and paste it elsewhere on the document it appears to have all the original effects as designed. But when I go to print the document the text no longer shows all of the effects from the original copied design. It seems fairly random as to where the effects are correctly applied or not. Sometimes it's on the original, sometimes it's not. It's driving me nuts. After copying and pasting and moving layers to try and fix this I can't chase down the original layer and I can't fix the layers that aren't showing up correctly because the settings all appear to be correct but when they are sent to print they most definitely are not correct. This is a HUGE problem for me. I'm having to start from scratch and I still don't know what is causing the problem.
