The question is, where is this metadata coming from?  Is it Designer or in the export function?
If Designer is generating it, then it must be able to change it, surely?
This issue is causing me quite a lot of hassle on many documents.  The only way I can workaround this is to create a new document, copy and paste all from the original doc and then export .  Really is a PITA!
Must be a proper solution to this.
I'll raise a support case if no none can help here.

Thanks Cara, but I can't get that to work.
Here is the situation, take a Designer document, say 'Document A', export it as a pdf calling it any name.  When viewed, it will have the title 'Document A'.
Then, make some edits to 'Document A', save it as 'Document B', export it as a pdf.  When viewed, it still has the title 'Document A'.
This is not good!
How do I resolve this?

I'm sure I didn't used to see this large assets panel on startup before the reinstall, but despite several years of use, I can't remember what it used to be like!

Can I make a suggestion to the mods here, that you start up a thread on issues with ordering the book, so that we can separate comments about the book itself here which are becoming swamped with 'I ordered.... but didn't....' type things.

Got the book a few days ago, and like all Affinity projects it is superb!
Just a couple of suggestions:
1) please make a pdf version available to owners of the physical book. The reason for me is that I find it so much easier looking at the book on one monitor and doing the work on the other monitor, rather than trying to hold or read a physical book, then refocus on a monitor.  So much easier just moving my head a little from one monitor to the other!
2) can I suggest that downloading the resources files is made a little easier.  Why not have a page showing all the files that can then just be clicked on?  Judging by the several comments here, the current system is awkward. Why is it necessary to type in 10 separate URLs to get the files?
Fantastic book though I am already looking forward to the Photo equivalent!

Couldn't agree more, and several people have posted about this already. Trying to do tutorials and follow steps on a computer whilst using a big paper book, is almost impossible!

These are the forums for the Affinity products, you may wish to post this in a forum more appropriate for the application you are using

I'm guessing there must be a way to retain print settings that I am missing.  
For example, if I set a scaling factor when printing a document, it is not retained if I go to print it again!
I have wasted so much paper and ink by forgetting that this happens, that I am pulling my hair out.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. In Illustrator, create a new document, type in some text, move the box off the canvas and it is still visible.  Artboards not involved.  
That's what we need in Designer.  I'd love to know why it so difficult to do!

Thanks Paul, you're right!  Thanks for that.  I have wasted so much time over the last few months over this.
The devs need to change this so the box and value therein is highlighted as it conventionally is in other apps.

One of the few annoying things about Designer and Photo is that when you tab between input boxes, the values are not highlighted.  This means having to move from keyboard to trackpad when inputting.
For example, if I want to change the width, height, x and y values of an object, I double tap on the first box then hit tab to move to the next expecting to just be able to input the next value, but no, I have to go back to the trackpad, double tap on the value field and proceed. This becomes very tedious after a while, and is not the behaviour that is common in other apps.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong here.

Couldn't agree more! When I started using AD, I couldn't believe it wasn't there, I thought I was missing an option somewhere.
An essential feature, and good to see it's coming soon, hopefully!

Matt, re posts 52 and 53, that issue has been fixed for me in the new builds!  Any text I copy and paste from a AI document now comes in correctly to AD!

Hmmm... not sure. I like more modern flat design in icons in general, but I'm not sure about these Affinity ones. 
I think my issue is the black '3D' frame aspect of them.  Why not dump that and just have the main triangle shapes?

Well, the answer is no, but it's a moot point because the whole issue has been fixed in the new beta.

Yes, but Apple's current icon thinking is a mess!  You've got the simple style of icons like Messages, iTunes, iBooks, etc. - which I like - through the Final Cut, Pages type style - which I'm not keen on, to the absurd style of something like the Mail.app postage stamp - which is horrendous, IMO!  Mixed message here I think.
