  1. Sorry, I mean is the large assets panel in my attachment normal for start up? I just don't remember my UI looking like that before, but I could be wrong!
  2. Thanks a lot. I'm sure I didn't used to see this large assets panel on startup before the reinstall, but despite several years of use, I can't remember what it used to be like!
  3. I had to reinstall Windows and Affinity products. Now when I run Designer, I am faced with a iOS12 panel of icons that I don't remember seeing before. How can I stop them appearing on startup? I tried searching but couldn't see anything. Thanks.
  4. I can't understand how to fix a font in FontForge. No idea what I am supposed to be looking for!
  5. Thanks again. I must say that my experience of free font sites is that they do one font family download zip. I have found it is the pay sites that take you to individual pages for each font rather than a complete family download. I'll have a try of TransType.
  6. I'm still not sure, as this is happening with quite a few fonts, that, prior to me reinstalling Windows, worked OK with Designer/Photo.
  7. I'm not saying it's legit, I'm saying it works OK in other apps, just not Affinity products.
  8. I know what you mean, but not sure that is the answer here. See attached for same font above that shows perfectly well in Windows font settings.
  9. I have installed various fonts, and some just don't show correctly in Designer/Photo. Example attached. I'm going mad with this! Any help would be appreciated.
  10. I still say, that the best workaround here - and it still seems crazy to me that we have to use one - is editing the title in Photo for those who have it.
  11. We have shown workarounds here already. The simplest is to use Affinity Photo to change the title of the Designer-exported pdf. That is not really the point here, I feel. Why should we not be able to edit the title of a document that Designer created in the first place? Why should we have to use Photo or Publisher to do this task when it should - in my opinion - be a basic function of the app that is creating the document.
  12. We’re not talking about MacOS or Windows, we’re talking about Designer retaining the title of a previous save when a pdf is exported, and not being able to edit it! This causes lots of issues, particularly when the file is linked to in a web site.
  13. Good grief! No one is talking about file names. We’re talking about how to edit the title.
  14. I see the same thing on Windows. I can't believe that this can be correct behaviour. We can change the title in Publisher or Photo but not Designer. We can export the pdf in Photo from a Designer file which shows the correct title in Windows/Mac file system, but does not show when reloading into Photo.
  15. It seems completely crazy that this can be done in Publisher (which I don’t have) but not in Designer.
  16. Sorry, I don't know what you mean. I'm trying to change it, that's the whole point of this thread! Please tell us how.
  17. Sorry, but yes there is! If I make changes to a document and save it as a different file name, then I certainly don't want the exported pdf to have the same title as the unrelated previous document, especially when it is going onto a web site when it shows the wrong title in a web browser.
  18. Thanks again. The question is, where is this metadata coming from? Is it Designer or in the export function? If Designer is generating it, then it must be able to change it, surely? This issue is causing me quite a lot of hassle on many documents. The only way I can workaround this is to create a new document, copy and paste all from the original doc and then export . Really is a PITA! Must be a proper solution to this. I'll raise a support case if no none can help here.
  19. Thanks Cara, but I can't get that to work. Here is the situation, take a Designer document, say 'Document A', export it as a pdf calling it any name. When viewed, it will have the title 'Document A'. Then, make some edits to 'Document A', save it as 'Document B', export it as a pdf. When viewed, it still has the title 'Document A'. This is not good! How do I resolve this?
  20. Ah OK, thanks. In that case, how do I change the things I mentioned in the first post?
  21. I know I must be going mad, but I want to change various document fields like author, title, etc., and I believe they are supposed to be in View>Studio>Fields, but I can't see Fields listed! Can someone please put me out my misery here? Thank you.
