The same technique is highly useful also when drawing multiple separate line/curve segments.

I have transitioned to Affinity from Adobe. And one small thing that does not go smooth is quickly switching between Text tool to Move tool (pointer) through the shortcut. Since I have to do this very frequently I decided to ask simply: What's the best way?

In InDesign I simply clicked on the corner of the text tool to mark it or outside the text frame, and then used the shortcut. This is not working in Affinity, as it constantly creates new text frames when clicking. 

Same problem when being inside a text frame, and I want to mark several layers. The issue is really getting out of the text frame mode quickly, and here I cannot click in the corner of the text frame to mark it, and being able to mark other layers.

I'm using Affinity Publisher for Mac.

You will also see the window called "embedded" that open when the pdf is placed (linked).

Thanks for the info! I use the latest release and chose the files to be linked. Then I dropped a pdf into my document from a folder, and this is what happened.

I imported a pdf into a document and am doing some edits. Beside my document, a new tab/window opens called "Embedded" as if it would be another identical file. How does this work, and why does this happen?
Seems strange to me as I have to close it, or switch window all the time to save the real document. And when other edits happen to be done in the "Embedded" like adding colors, they are not added into the main file, so when switching between these windows, the settings are not the same (like added swatches)

How can I disable this strange window called embedded? (This is not only a treated as a layer but appears beside other files opened.) 

Also, after I have made more edits, I cannot save over the new document, but only get the option "Save as".

I was getting more convinced of purchasing Affinity Publisher, until I accidentally found out there are no footnotes function. That's very surprising. Are there any other vital features missing, comparing to InDesign?
