  1. I notice that there is an assets toolbar on the left, where does one get these assets as there appears to only be IOS Cheers
  2. DPI has no relevance at all, which is why Affinity photo should be used to design a webpage. I used to design websites and we always used PS. If we needed icons, logos and graphic elements they would be designed in AI and then pasted in as objects. After your design is finished, you then need to use HTML and CSS to create the structure and then decide which (most), elements can be created using HTML and which parts are images. That is all there is too it. If you want your design elements to look good with retina screen then make sure that each element is either an SVG or x2 the size you want it. You can resize it using CSS and media queries https://designmodo.com/design-retina-displays/
  3. Excellent vids and thanks. Just a word for the developers. I think everyone might be surprised with the amount of people who use AI and PS for manufacturing design rather than art. 70% of users of these programs are in either web design or manufacturing, especially the printing industry and garment decoration. Affinity Designer would be well set to introduce a slightly easier way to create an offset minus path and unite layer features. If they do then a great deal of people using either Coral Draw or AI would come over The process in AI Open document > select all > Copy > Create new layer > Paste > Select all > pathfinder > Unite > View > Outline > object > Path > Offset Path > -0.1pt > Stroke > Special Spot colour (called CutContour) Job done An improvement could be made to AI, you could make the offset path live with a slider, rather than AI, where you have to keep previewing each change
  4. OK select all > Layer >Geometry >Add seems to work the same is AI unite. SO how about an offset path now?? Cheers folks If I select all and the geometry > add, it seems to select the artboard as well, so cannot then select the path I have created on its own, which I would need to do in order to create an offset minus path. I.e. one that is slightly smaller than the original so I can cut this using a CAD cutter. This way we dont get any white whisper lines around the sticker we need to cut
  5. It works, just now need offset paths and pathfinder merge and unite
  6. I have a box, with a stroke of 2pt. If I convert to curves nothing happens. I would expect this to create paths for both the outside of the stroke and the inside. If convert to curves is the same as create paths. But This was with a vector file copied and pasted using Illustrator If I convert to curves on text created in AD it works. So why not from pasted vectors from AI. I have 80GB of AI files going back 20 years, I would need to paste them
  7. I mean I cant convert text to outlines, or unite or merge layers or paths Which is a deal breaker for me
  8. I dont think that is the same thing, if I create a rectangle with a stroke, it wont let convert to a path. Same goes for text. I do seem to be able to convert it to outlines or paths 20 years of Illustrator cannot be lost. I will never get that time back CHeers
  9. Make Photoshop extensions compatible. I have a wonderful plugin called Layer Saver. I can save top, bottom selected layers automatically with filename + sequence number. Example MTFLOS201-1,2,3,4, All saved as JPG with selected quality and sizes I can with this plugin have 150 smart vectors and auto create 100's of t-shirt designs with each colour of shirt as an image on a layers and put each smart vector on top of the t-shrts and save them to a folder. Saves months of work. I can create 1000 images in one hour. Its a free plugin and can send it if anyone wants to have a look https://github.com/Paul-Riggott/PS-Scripts/blob/master/Layer Saver.jsx
  10. Thumbnails of layers are slightly blurry using UHD laptop connected to a Lenovo monitor at 2560 x 1440 on 125% I havent checked directly with Lenovo 900 Laptop at 3200 x 1800 Cheers
  11. Can i create outlines on text? So I dont have to include fonts in exported PDF files?? Can I export to high quality PDF as well? Cheers
  12. Me too, I create stickers and t-shirts using a Roland versacam so I have now got to work out how to do an offset path but I also need a unite feature (pathfinder), so I can select all > unite > copy and paste on to new layer > minus offset path > Stroke with CutContour using a named spot colour. This was we can cut around our stickers or or perf cut right through them
  13. Path finder tools, are there any. Absolute necessity for the print world so we can merge or unite and then create offset path -/+ to create a cut path and or a perfcut path ANy ideas
