Thank you for your response. I really like that promise since I love using my Surface tablet / computer on the go or anywhere away from my desktop. As the ClipStudio has a special workspace setting as well as Corel Painter got one for the Surface (or any other device like it) it must be possible making the same in Affinity. :)
Until this is in place I will continue using it on my desktop.

The trouble is, the Surface Pro devices aren't really tablets. They're small desktop devices with support for pen, touch, and removable keyboard. On Apple platforms, it's easier because they have two segregated models. If you have an iPad, you buy the iPad version from the App Store, if you have a MacBook / iMac / etc you buy the desktop version from the Mac App Store. On Windows the lines are blurred, there is only desktop.
Having said that, we're aware of the issues surrounding using the Affinity apps on Surface Pro devices, and we're looking at ways to improve it.

Sometimes I like to flip the screen when I'm retouching on my surface book 2. Are there plans to be able to switch Photo/Designer into tablet mode on PC?

    Yea
Yea I second this. I have a Lenovo 2 in 1 and when i flip my pc to use in tablet mode Affinity Designer automatically crashes. It would make since for them to implement such feature as many pc on the market feature touch support and tablet modes.

Is there a reason for this? We have pen + touch? Seems like an obvious add on. Or, do we have to wait for Adobe to do it first?

I mainly like to work on a surface for photo editing thanks to the great screen, pen input and touchscreen. I think a lot of people also like surface as a photo editing machine.

After seeing the Ipad version of Affinity photo it left me a bit wanting of the traditional desktop UI on devices like the surface however. It is a great UI experience when using the device in laptop/desktop mode, but when you want the paint with the pen for example, the experience turns bad quickly. I allready struggled with the fact that touch input is seen as the same as a mouse click instead of panning the canvas, so using the touchscreen as a main navigation tool is not that intuïtive, but after seeing the Ipad version, a lot more things pop out to me like "damn that's a good idea, I wish my surface could do that".

I was wondering if Windows 10's tablet mode could be more integrated with the application, like switching to the Ipads UI when tablet mode is activated, so that editing on a device like the surface is a lot more comfortable. This would mean that someone could just flip the keyboard and work in the document with a UI tailored for tablets, and flip it back to tablet mode when wants a more desktop like experience.

Are there plans to implement such features into the desktop app? Or is there a touch based UWP app in the works?

I was really blown away in how good the Ipad UI actually is, and I really think a more integrated experience into Windows' built in tablet mode will help a lot of people in their workflow.

ok, i know. But how can i send a signal to Serif, that this feature is a realy need for me and others? Answer to the old threads? To do nothing?
I understand that you and others not like when a feature more than one time is asked, eventuelly is this feature for you without of interesst. But what should i do? The answer from Serif i also read, but i think as a user i have the rights to ask again or not? It is the user who uses and pays the software or?
Well, not that you disunderstand me, i am not in dispute of you. I just wanted to think abaut it.

Since the last reply from a staff member in any of those three linked threads was back in December 2018 I think it is quite reasonable for someone to ask the question again. After all, a lot of things can happen in a year or so; for example, Publisher was released between then and now.
Having said that, as it is a frequently asked question, maybe there should be a FAQ which tells everyone the latest official stance on the matter (I couldn’t find one).

    Hei there,
i use a Surface from Microsoft with the pen and this works great in a team.  But the gui of Affinity Designer / Photo is not suitable in tablet mode. Any chance to get the tablet GUI and gesture like iPad for the Surface devices? I see that on video and fotos. Perfektly when i can switch between tablet and desktop modus.

would love a way to use the tablet UI (iPad) on a device like the Surface Pro.
User can switch between the two desktop/tablet as desired.

MEB, this is a basic functionality. This should not be done through a workaround. Please, fix it.

I understand the reason, but from user perspective it feels like a bug. Every competitor has solved this problem one way or another.
