Hi, I have a simple suggestion, perhaps it can help. First of all, I read this thread because I'm having the same trouble, the .png background turned to black. In my case, the problem is from the picture I edited to become .png format. Have you tried to use another picture from another source (i.e. from a webpage) and print it? I'm using Affinity Designer in my MacBook and edited the .png picture with the Preview app.
