Thanks a lot! Looks really nice.

Found this on Youtube and it blew me away. Designer makes it possible to draw intricate mandalas with less effort, more precision and more quality than meets the eye. The bloke (don't know if the guy in the video actually invented it) that figured this out should be given a medal. I included the .afdesign file that I saved with history as well, so others can have a look at how it was drawn.

Version 2.0 Ammonite Vector Brushes
1. Removed reference to old versions
2. All nozzles are now vector based replacing previous raster versions
3. Re-built all Brush Nozzles using updated vector raster brush elements and removed transparencies and any other old effects!
4. The old brush set was appearing darker and less intense with 1.7/1.8 update...I have fixed that with this version!
6. Updated the Sample Sheets to newer (latest) layout.
7. Naming arranged to match the raster versions...mostly!

1. Removed old versions redundant now..
2. Made significant changes to the brush dynamics and nozzles. All nozzles are now vector based replacing previous raster versions (as much as possible)
3. There is a significant number of new nozzles for the brushes Which means they are not like original sets..
4. Made use of the 1.7/1.8.2 brush engine in AD/AP using subBrushes.
5. The old brush set was appearing darker and less intense with 1.7/1.8 update...I have fixed that with this version!
6. Updated the Sample sheets to newer (latest) layout..Sub brushes are displayed in red.

FraGar Greek Patterns New Colors 18 PC.afbrushes

Hi maniacs!
Because I was ill (even more than usual 😅) and bored during the last days, I did a lot of experiments with styles. Some of the results are attached at the bottom. Hope you like it.
For those who are not familiar to it: The textures can be scaled, rotated and moved by using the Fill tool. All other effects can be manipulated with the Layer FX.
Edit: One additional note: Not all textures are seamless, as I noticed some moments ago (e.g. "PsychoWaves"). So they can't be scaled endlessly without causing edges inside the shape you fill with it. You should have an eye on it. I will see if I can fix it.
Edit: The styles are free for personal and commercial use in graphic projects. But of course not to be resold.

I do hundreds of the history portraits, first in AP then imported into AD where I use half a dozen export sizes.
I used the paint mixer brush for Rodin, the rest mostly regular brush.
 I really wish the paint mixer brush worked better. I do have my wacom table  mixer brush set for C & L. But the mixer brush is just not as good as painter or photoshop, which I've mostly given up for Affinity Photo. I do have hope that it will get better in future versions

I've been working on 'Frost Dancer' in Affinity Photo for a few days now. I wanted to use a reduced colour palette, which I created from an image I found which had the right frosty/icy tones I was looking for. I called the colour palette 'Ghostly Blue', then created a Gradient Map from the colour palette, but I ended up using a Recolour Adjustment, which seemed to work best. I found an image of a ballet dancer and used 'Photobashing' techniques to create the 'Frost Dancer' using the many 'Nature' and 'Atmosphere' image brushes I created, changing the colours of the image dabs and textures to white and selecting brushes that looked like frost and ice. I also used a couple of the 'Fog Overlays' by Paper Farm to create the rolling mist in the field.
I wanted to create a carefree dryad or wood spirit dancing lightly across heaths, fields and woodlands, laying frost across the landscape. I wanted the dryad's hair to be coiled like the wave in the Japanese print 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' by Hokusai. I created the hair by painting it with a load of Gold brushes I created, then put the layers beneath the Recolour Adjustment, which seemed to work quite well...

All brushes are made with raster geometric shapes (on vector curves) over which I applied various opacities, blur intensity levels and other effects. I’ve been using them for vector illustration as shading brushes with iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and the “vector brush tool”.
Max tail offset is 600px. Width is set at 100px for all brushes (modify according to your needs). They can be used for anything with no worry.
