Is there any update on this? I am really struggling with Affinity Publisher not being able to paste/apply text attributes in the text box. Please tell me if this is something that's is going to be implemented soon.

Patrick, thanks again for that tip on autosaves. I totally looked over that option! FYI, perhaps, it might be useful info. First time the software crashed on me (when typing font name) I got a dialog box that asked if I wanted to recover the document. Since I haven't made any major changes to the document in that instance, I replied "no". Since then I've experienced additional crashes and this recovery dialog box would not come up again. Something in the code that accepted user's response as a permanent decision?

Same here. Software crashes when I type out the font name in the Context Tool Bar. Can anyone tell me if: 1. A setting can be selected that will automatically continue to save changes to the document as I continue to work on it? Or at least at a specific interval. Right now, unless I physically hit "Save", I don't see that's happening. 2. How do I get the software to recover my document after the crash? These options (if available) should somewhat soften the blow of crashes until they are fixed. Thanks!

Walt, thank for your speedy response. I do not remember installing any hyphenation languages, but I was able to select hyphenation for Russian from Publisher before the 1.8.1 upgrade came out. Upon searching my library folders (actually the whole drive), I was not able to detect any hyphenation language files. Which confirms that I have not installed it manually, yet my documents with Russian text were hyphenated just fine. I followed your advice and installed new language dictionaries. Now I see that the Publisher can hyphenate my text again! Problem solved, I just don't understand how/why it became a problem in the first place... Thank you for your help! You saved me a lot of agony.

Previous version was able to identify and let me select hyphenation language --> Russian. 1.8.1 ver does not have Russian in the hyphenation dropdown. I am able to select Russian only from Spelling dropdown. Please advise if you are working on this fix and when it can be expected. What can I do in the meantime? How would I roll back to previous version? Thanks!

Any updates on this question? I am also looking to apply text properties to new text frames or just text selections.

Just wanted to say thank you for resolving this issue. I also had this same problem and the solution posted by Lee D worked for me. Using Mojave on Mac.
