  1. Actually this happens when the image size is greater than 8191 pixels exactly. That is " large side > 2^13 px". That is, as usual, the programmer is using a power of 2 as a "magic number", to express a system limit. But 8192px is too small for 2023. This should be easy to fix. Please do so! Many folks now have digital cameras that are 8192px wide or more (Canon R5 images are EXACTLY 8192px).
  2. I attach a file. Each time I try to touch the WB controls in the Develop persona (with the image layer selected), Photo 2.0.3 crashes. System: iMac Pro running macOS 13.2 (22D49) 202301_M1A1717-1600.afphoto
  3. When trying to export JPEG files from my Canon R5, the preview is all empty, or 95% empty. Should be easy to reproduce. Happens deterministically for me. Seems to be related to the resolution of the image. The R5 images are 8192 X 5464 px. Photo version: 2.0.0 - 2.0.3
  4. Hi @MEB From another account I cannot reproduce it either. On the account the crash occurs, I have Quicksilver installed, with a plugin to keep history of the clipboard. Perhaps this causes the issue. Anyway, a crash means an unhandled exception... The developers should take a look at it. EDIT: It certainly is caused by Quicksilver. I attach a file with versions etc. If I close Quicksilver, the crash does not occur. HOWEVER, having Photo open and trying to open QuickSilver, it caused Photo to crash! Which I find hard to explain...
  5. I have applied a BW adjustment to the vector layer. If you try to copy the layer (CMD+C) , Photo crashes immediately. With the BW adjustment turned off, it does not crash. (Photo 1.8.4 • MacOS 10.15.6 • iMac Pro) NOTE: you might need to deselect and select again the vector layer before it crashes EDIT: I could not reproduce this on my 16-inch 2019 MBP EDIT: I could not reproduce this on my 15-inch 2012 MBP (Retina) crash-on-vector-layer-copy.afphoto
  6. I'm glad this has been fixed in 1.8 beta. Here is an HDR I created from an attached SD card. (Originally it was 42 MP 😀 )
  7. Well, I am sure that the nice people at Serif understand that this is a top priority for all of us who shoot outdoors !
  8. Hi there, One of the big news of iOS 13 is the ability to attach USB sticks, SSD drives etc snd have access to all the files (at last!). However, I cannot access these attached media from the Affinity apps. The attached media does not appear in the Files browser WITHIN Photo, while I can see it in the Files app. Is this an iOS bug/limitation? If it is not, I think it should be top priority to have this feature. So that we are able to leave the laptops at home when going outdoors!
  9. Thank you! This inconsistency between the desktop and mobile version always makes me think that the mobile app has stopped responding to touches...
  10. I am checking every Testflight beta to see if it is there But it is not there yet. Is there a schedule of features that are going to appear soon, on public display?
  11. Andy, what exactly do you mean by “log”? Isn’t feedback and requests the purpose of this forum?
  12. In the desktop edition, you can pan a zoomed image by moving the indicator rectangle in the navigator. Why doesn't this work in the iPad edition, where it would be more useful?
  13. And the question is, Andy, don't you use Metal on the iPad? That's the main reason Apple created Metal: to avoid data copying between the CPU and the GPU... And if you do use it on the iPad, why not use it on the Mac too?
  14. Just a minute! Blaming Serif for the wrong reasons is not constructive at all ! The valid criticism, is that the iPad version ended up a top secret project... Regarding High Sierra, breaking changes and all this stuff, HAVE YOU ACTUALLY SPOTTED A BREAKING CHANGE? Because if you have not, I would say that your behaviour is childish. (If you have spotted bugs, have you reported them?) According to MY TESTING on High Sierra Beta2+, all seems FINE. See the screenshot. This document, was created on my iPad, and opened on High Sierra with 1.6 β BTW, Apple is not Microsoft. Dropping support of 32-bit architectures 8-10 years after the cease of their production, is not exactly a "breaking change". It is an expected, and welcome, change.
  15. I spent a lot of time of time trying to get a selected area of my image out of Affinity Photo. With no luck. It seems "copy" only works within Photo and is not compatible with the iOS pasteboard. So, how do I export only part of my image? Either a selection or a layer? Do I have to delete everything else first? Apparently, this is an ugly hack.
  16. I only see sharing functionality in the Export menu. However, this does not include Affinity's native format. This is NOT good. Ideally, I should be able to save a file in iCloud and edit either from my iPads or from my Macs. Am I missing something? (Testing the 1.6.3. Beta).
  17. If we do not see something this week, it will be very disappointing.
  18. Actually, this is what I was looking for. Being able to hide the handles anytime. Do you know where is this in the shortcuts manager, so that I can reassign it to Cmd-H ?
  19. Yes!! I had seen the video, 9 months ago... The problem is, the app is still not on my 12.9" iPad!! Perhaps you need some help? (BTW, is this developed in Objective-C and C++, I guess??)
  20. One of the things I have been waiting for, is Affinity Photo for iPad. It seems this has been sent back by many months? I am also waiting for a decent DAM app (I do not like LightRoom's UI!), since the time Apple killed Aperture. I have almost decided to invest my free time into developing one myself (I am a developer with a passion for Photography).
  21. +1 I find it hard to believe that something so useful and simple is not implemented yet. I find my self doing Deselect and then Undo Deselect, all the time. This thread is 30 months old. I found this thread by searching, because I need this feature. BTW, something similar (Hide Pixel Selection) has finally made it into Affinity Photo 1.5 I would prefer a keyboard shortcut to control whether the selection box is visible or not.
  22. It was VERY unfortunate that Apple killed Aperture. I like its superior UI (to anything else out there). And I cannot understand why they had to kill it. Their cash flow is quite good. Actually, the best on the planet...
  23. I could not replicate this issue on a 5K iMac (Late 2015), running Affinity Photo 1.5.1 and MacOS 10.12.2
