Jeannette got a reaction from João Vítor Martins in Font doesn't work
I have a .ttf font which wrks fine on any other programme on my mac (Monterey 12.0.1) but not in Publisher (not on Photo neither). It is the first time I have this problem. I checked, everything is up to date, of course I tried to restart the computer. Any ideas what it can be ? It only shows the first letter if I keep it in small letters...
Thanks in advance, I would be really happy to figure this out.

The font includes some OpenType features which are On by default.
Other applications do not support these features or have them Off by default.
Which is why you do not see this in the other applications.
Open the Typography panel, look for Positional Alternates, and disable Initial Forms, Final Forms, and Isolated Forms.
Then your text will go back to "normal."
This is where some font documentation would be helpful.
Note: I tested the v1.010 from Google Fonts (today).
Some of the older versions from other font websites do not have these features.

    Goodday Dan,

I had the same problem, and for me it helped to clear all up.
    Merci

    Hi Nicholas Woods,
    Welcome to the forums
I'm very sorry to hear this! Resetting your app back to it's default settings should return this for you.
You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open.
Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity - Exporting User Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts video. https://player.vimeo.com/video/189596577/
Please do let me know if this helps!

Apologies if this seems picky (or obvious), but to be clear, if you open and save a document in the beta version you might not be able to open it again in the released version after that due to a file format update. We do suggest you make copies of files you intend to open in the beta to avoid any accidents. :)

Ho @Jeannette, welcome to the forums!

This is actually the only way to run the beta as it will not open unless it sees the released version installed.
They can be run side-by-side and do not share settings, but be warned that if you open a document in the beta version, you might not be able to open it again in the released version after that as it could be updated to the newer file format that the released version doesn't understand.

    Hi @Jeanette,
this is actually how I'm working. I use AP 1.8.x to open my IDML files, so I can copy all ressources (Textes, etc), and then paste them in AP 1.7.x for production. Both apps are open side-by-side without a bug. Bienvenue :-)
