  1. Thank you, R C-R! That works perfectly! Obviously I have a lot of learning to do.
  2. Well, I haven't spent nearly as much time with Publisher as InDesign, but I'm getting there. I do realize there are functions in ID that aren't in Publisher. One thing I find problematic is that you can't view a single page if you're working on something with spreads. I do a lot of book correcting, so I need to see each page as large as possible. In ID I use Cmd-0 to Fit Page in Window. In Publisher it seems that if the job is using spreads each spread is shown as a "page" so even if I use Zoom to Fit I have to switch to the hand tool and manually center and enlarge each page so I can do the corrections accurately. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's clumsy.
  3. New Publisher 2 user here, and I'm thoroughly impressed by it and especially its ability to open IDML files so accurately. One thing, though, is making it a bit difficult to move completely to Publisher: keyboard shortcuts. I've been using InDesign since version 1.0 and the keyboard shortcuts are now a part of my DNA. I've been able to customize them as much as possible, but there is still a number of shortcuts that I use a lot in ID that aren't available in Publisher.
  4. Now that import of IDML is available, the next couple of feature requests I'd make are 1) a Paragraph Composer, and 2) a Document Fonts folder.
  5. Wow! Wow! Wow! Just imported an IDML into Publisher 1.8.1 and it's nearly identical to the original! Having something like ID's Paragraph Composer would probably have made it even more true to the original, but still, I can't complain. Great job to everyone who worked on this update. It's amazing!
  6. I'm a retired book paginator (who still freelances quite a bit). I've been using InDesign since version 1 and only just discovered Affinity a few weeks ago. After trying out Publisher for a few hours I was immensely impressed--especially when I opened a PDF and it was completely editable--so I bought it right away. I'm going to do the same with Photo, which will be replacing a very old version of Photoshop that is a bit wonky running in High Sierra. It's so interesting watching this suite of applications grow and mature and I'm enjoying being a part of it. You've come a long way since Serif Page Plus (which I once had on a Windows PC so many moons ago)!!!
  7. Hmmm. When I try to open an IDML file in Publisher (Mac) it's greyed out.
  8. Genius! This is one of the things that had me hesitant to buy Publisher. It's not the most elegant way of doing it, but it indeed works! Thanks Old Bruce!!!
