I completely understand your point of view, but sometimes we need to get work done fast and too many functions is better than not having those functions at all.
Affinity could have made some quick basic implementations of all the features that were required and slowly polish them until their Quality Standard, but they chose to starve their base of clients while waiting and waiting... I mean, the Template Window in 1.8 is great and all, but the Warp tools, Blend Tool, Shape Builder, Offset Paths, Cusp Dash lines or Zig Zags, are more important and I think anyone can agree.
Affinity takes pride in its UI/UX and I really agree on that but we still don't have a VISUAL Way to change stroke width at various path points. Something which VectorStyler or even Illustrator understood as something very important for the user...
The BASIC DIVIDE boolean is still broken...
Same circles in a VectorStyle which is a younger and less polished app...:

No, because noone outside of Serif knows. It's just not there yet.

I assume this post it's only popular among the users, not the Serif team. Am I correct to understand that that's no development on this feature for the past 5 years?

Agreed. Lets clear the board and the air and refresh our memories with the initial post then 🙂

Yeah, I really don't get how people are on the fence when it comes to buying Affinity Photo and/or Designer. Or how they could possibly be against paying full price for the next version of each app.

This is just my example of paying for Illustrator and the Photoshop/Lightroom plans. The Illustrator single app plan that I have costs me $21.19 a month. The Photoshop/Lightroom plan costs $10.69 a month. So, I pay $31.88 a month here in the USA, and that comes out to $382.56 a year.

Over 10 years that would be $3,825.60.

Now, I took advantage of the introductory pricing that Serif offered on Designer, on Photo, on Photo for iPad, and as soon as Designer for iPad is available I will buy that too.

I paid $40 for Designer, $40 for Photo and $20 for Photo [iPad]. Say Designer [iPad] has introductory pricing of $20 too. That is $120.

Hypothetically say Serif has a new version for each of those apps once every 3 years and I upgrade to each app at the full price. I am looking at less than $450 for 10 years, compared to $3,825 for Adobe's apps over 10 years. And with Adobe I am probably never going to have an Illustrator that works on my iPad, never going to have a Photoshop that works on my iPad.

I am one of those Adobe users that has had problems with the Creative Cloud. I have had 3 different occasions where I couldn't start any of the apps and had to deal with the pain of getting it all to work again. Sometimes that took days. I even had an issue one time where Creative Cloud was interfering with my Backblaze backup cloud service, actually erasing files. CC can be great when it works, but can be a frustrating, maddening experience when it doesn't.

Anyway, back to the savings, $450 for Affinity, $3,800 for Adobe. If I can dump Adobe I pocket almost $3,400 over the course of 10 years. Even if I had to buy each Affinity app yearly, at full price, that still comes out to a savings of $2,200 over the course of 10 years compared to Adobe.

So, when I see people on the 'fence', hemming and hawing over deciding to buy Photo, or Designer, or the iPad versions, I just shake my head in disbelief!!

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (free for existing customers)
The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Designer).
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Designer for Windows) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Windows Store purchases and needs a product key).
If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store— Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.

But even more strange is the request about this tool, which has already taken 5 years to come ...🤣🤣🤣

Yip, was just looking for this feature yesterday. I'm pushing everyone I know to buy the Affinity software as I feel it's a game changer. They need to pay catch-up with some features other software has had for many years, which for the most part they have done very well. That said it feels strange that features like this are missing.

    @TonyB@MEB
For customers waiting (some, for years) for the tools referred to in this thread, it feels like we're trapped in Zeno's Paradox. Mesh/warp has been indicated since 2014. Twenty-fourteen, man! If I was inside the return window, I'd refund my purchase, hold my nose, and buy Illustrator.
    Two weeks.
Oy vay. Wake me when we get there.
