  1. I am working with graphics that are in the red and green hues. I added a adjustment LUT layer that simulates red/green color blindness. It works fine in the layout in both Affinity Designer and Publisher. But trying to print or export the document to a PDF with the LUT adjustment layer active makes no difference in the PDF. Is there some box I have forgot to tick of some where?
  2. As soon as I choose Print or Ctrl+P the program crashes. This is both n Designer and Publisher ver.1.9. Using Export functions seems to work. It was working fine in 1.8.x. If you provide a upload link I can send you the file with the condition that you keep it confidential as it is customer work.
  3. Just want to shout out, and give you all at Affinity a big thank you for developing these excellent programs. Providing extremely good software at an incredible reasonable price! Thanks a lot!
  4. Thanks for the thorough answer. I must say, that is a bit to technical for me. At least for if I have to bear that in mind every time I receive a file to open it in a text editor to figure out the color profile in order to decide which way to proceed working with the document... Really... Thanks! I appreciate your effort to dive into the issue I experience, and give feedback. And keep up the great work!
  5. Thanks for looking into it. That's to bad... I can understand that would affect layers and order, but how come it also affects color code?
  6. Hello Gabe. No problem. Well.... the problem is, that the file I received is a kind of for authorized award winners only so can not upload to public forums. I will share with you privately as long as you delete the file after evaluation.
  7. Thanks. I suspected as much that Adobe cheats in some way or another. I have no idea about the origin of the eps file, but I suspect it has been generated in AI.
  8. I searched the forum but did not find this addressed (maybe my search was bad, so please link to topic if I missed it). Opening eps files in different applications always comes with some surprises. This screen dump shows the same eps file opened in AD (1.8x) and Adobe Illustrator CC2018. And I notice a few things. I have converted the document color space to RGB/8 sRGB in both applications and files. As you can see on the screen dump RGB color is slightly different from AI to AD (AI is on the left, AD on the right). As you also can see, layer are better organized in AI than AD. Layers are actually completely missing in AD... (I also tried in 1.9 beta AD but same same). Does anyone have some ideas how to make import/open of eps files in AD preserve layer hierachi better? And get color to match across applications? Or link to a topic that discusses this issue? Thanks in advance.
  9. Yes. Thanks... I found the info about the windows bug on the forum after searching for a while. Although it would be nice to have it working, it's not a need to bug fix....
  10. I saw a video from the excellent James Ritson and noticed, that the curves adjustment tool in his version of Affinity Photo has the histogram in a way to see the separate color channels. I have not been able to figure out how to get that appearance. I do see he is working on a mac and I am on a windows machine... I probably just missed a setting some where, so hope someone can help me. I am on AP version 1.8.5.703
  11. Sorry. Wrong sub forum. Should have been in Bugs in Affinity photo Windows
  12. I have experienced a strange error. The first screen dump is a scanned TIF raw file (from Canonscan 9000F, using Vuescan) and this is viewed in Photo Mechanic 6. When I open the TIF file in AP 1.85 it renders quite strange. If I export a copy of the TIF file from Photo Mehanic it opens up correctly. Don't know what to make of it, but I stumbled upon it.
  13. I have experienced random crashes with the newest release as well (also on windows10). It happens sometimes just opening an .afphoto file. Also experience it when succesfully opening a jpg, choosing colour replacement brush and then changing the tolerance percent.
  14. I experience a glitch when using the patch tool with a Wacom. The issue is as following. I am able to draw a selection but when using the pen to select (tapping once on the tablet) where the source should be taken from does not register at all. I tried selecting with the pen, and the selecting the source area for the patch by left clicking the mouse and that works as expected.
  15. I am layouting a portfolio in Publisher. I have setup the documents color space for Adobe RGB (set to convert in document setup) and all imported photos are Adobe RGB color space as well. I have a color calibrated monitor capable of showing almost 100% of Adobe RGB color space and photos are looking as they should in the Publisher Document. The issue arise when exporting the Publisher document to PDF using Shift+Ctrl+Alt+S command. When choosing either PDF for print or PDF for web I have tried all combinations of the color space and ICC settings in the menu option "more" and it always change the colors in the PDF compared to the colors in Publisher when I view the file in Adobe Reader. This does not happen when printing (CTRL+P) the publisher document to a PDF using either Microsofts PDF or Bullzip (software PDF printer). Can anyone tell me what I might have overlooked or doing worng?
  16. Selection by different attributes are the thing I miss the absolute most. Organizing your drawings can be very troublesome without. I hope, cross my fingers, that it is on top of the feature list in future versions. A big time saver if this will be add'ed.
  17. Thanks. I do know there is some control, but as you write, not as much as I would like. I have mad some workarounds for some things, but that's more luck than skills. Anyway - I hope Affinity records this idea, and maybe it gets featured somewhere down the line.
  18. I use Symbols in Designer to make patterns. Set up a template once and for all, and that makes it fairly straight forward working with repeating patterns. Unless I simply misunderstand your request. There are excellent Youtube tutorials about setting up a pattern template using Symbols.
  19. As I understand and experimented with, the "line" and the "gap" in a dashed line/stroke is relative/depending on stroke weight. So the gap/line changes bigger when one changes the stroke weight. It would to really great if one could determine the absolute length of gap/line independently of the stroke weight. And control this in the metric system of measurement. I am thinking this, because I draw/edit architetural plans in different scales in Designer, and sometimes creating strokes with gap/lines that fits the scale of the drawing will be easier for some design elements.. Anyway. Hope it makes sense and it gets on the "develop list".
  20. Thanks for the information and quite sure you guys in development made a deliberate choice. In case of the barcodes it doesn't really matter if text is imported as curves as long as it does not disappear. But sometimes you get eps files, where you might need to make different language versions, and it that case, editable text would be nice. Anyway - thanks for keeping it in mind and thanks for great software!
  21. I opened the eps in the 1.8 and the text is now in the file. But instead of being imported as actual text that is editable, it imports as curves. That is not an optimal solution. Maybe this needs to be logged in the further development?
  22. Sounds good. Can I run beta and latest release parallel? I suppose if I work in 1.8 I cannot open files in 1.7?
  23. I autogenerate barcodes in jpg and eps - bars and numbers below. Unfortunately when I open the eps file in Designer (the latest) it does not have any referral to the numbers below the barcode. It does not even tell me there is missing a font or the like. When I open the same file in Illustrator the numbers are present, but Illustrator tells me that the font is missing. It is quite troublesome that numbers just seem to disappear out of the eps fil when opened in Affinity Designer and not in Illustrator. Anyone have a solution or is this a bug? The eps is attached for people to see for them... Barcode test.eps
