  1. Thanks for testing. Maybe it's the webste I am using. I have been trying to isolate the error warning on some graphics and I got a hit when I add the inner shadow effects it flags rgb content. I do not have the a "pro" pref filgt checker as they are pretty expensive...
  2. I have a strange problem I hope someone can help me with. I make a new document in CMYK Iso Coated v2 300% (ECI). I add a text box enter a word and make the fill of the text a CMYK define global color. I export the document with to PDF (Press ready) default settings and a prefligt check results in a CMYK document. I now add the Inner Shadow effects on the text (I change the shadow color to a predefined global color CMYK 100% black). I export the document with the same PDF settings, and preflight says the document contains RGB art work? What happens? Is FX in AFfinity rendered in RGB and not CMYK? Is there something I am doing wrong? Attached is the document. First page is with Inner Shadow FX and second pages is clean text. Color space changes using FX.afpub
  3. I use this product. Bluetooth and a small program to customize the function of the 9 keys and the dial. I have setup the dial for zoom function. Works great https://www.storexppen.co.uk/buy/ac-19-remote.html
  4. I appreciate you trying to work out this issue and make me understand it better. Although there is a workaround, I really think it's strange that the 100% black changes when different icc profiles are applied. In a grander scope, this means, that if my print files are going to different print houses, that uses different profiles, I need to "recolor" my documents every time I choose a new printhouse?!... Shouldn't the conversion ideally been managed in PDF export? I am just a enthusiast graphic designer making stuff for a small startup (not enough finances for pro/expert people yet), so there are definitely things in printed matter color management I do not know enough about. I do have fairly good knowledge doing color management for photography though. I must say, that the way conversion between color profiles works in Affinity is really strange for me - especially for black. Wuld be great if affinty had a Black solution like Adobe. Anyways - I need to really dig into it this color stuff, to understand it better and save some time and frustration in the end. And I must say: when objects loose their connection to color assignment/global color swatch it ruins the purpose of making swatches. Your hard work trying to keep your data/layout structured and organized just went down the drain
  5. Thanks a lot! I will experiment a little with the different options. And I created a specific swatch library with only CMYK swatches, so I think it's the assign/convert option I do not fully understand.
  6. Thanks. I will look into that. And the 100% is the issue here. I have a global color set to 100% black and when I change the documents icc profile for the printhouse, it apperently changes the 100% black to "rich black"... Extremely annoying. Do you perhaps know why?
  7. I am layouting a document in Publisher. I have made text styles for headings, normal text etc. I have defined size, color, kerning etc. When I try to change the text style color I would expect that the color is updated on all instances of text where I have applied the text style. This does not happen. If I change the size of the text it changes immediately. What am I missing?
  8. Maybe you pressed "Tab" key? That is the shortcut to hide/reveal tools and workspace.
  9. You can export your asset library to a backup place. SO you do not loose it if you make a complete uninstall/reinstal. But... I also experience the page size changes and objects shuffle slightly around when exporting to PDF. I found that exporting to PDF4/X helped my problem. I have no idea what to make of it or if it's a temporary fix for just this document. I also have issues with colors on some assets changing from document to document even though they are exactly the same press cmyk template...
  10. Has this issue been resolved? I still experience FX parameters change when I copy/paste the FX from one shape to another...
  11. "You can also, after applying the brush in Designer, go back to Publisher, "Convert to Text Frame", and type the text." True, but as soon as one does that, you loose the option of changing the brush if I want another style of brush - Or am I missing something?
  12. I cannot seem to find a way to solve my problem. I made a shape in Apub and inserted some text in the shape. In Affinity Publisher you have the option through "Text frame" panel to change fill and stroke color of the shape. I now would like to add a brush to the stroke of the text frame but Brushes are not available in Publisher. No problem I think! I use the studiolink to ADesigner, but here there is no option of "Text frame panel". And I cannot figure out how to change either fill color or stroke color/type/brush of the shape that the text is embedded in, in Designer? The curios thing is I can make the shape in Designer. Select fill and stroke color/brush style. As soon as you use the text tool and write/insert text in the shape - I have no idea how to change the fill/color of the original shape. The only fill and stroke color I am able to change is that of the text. The appearance panel is no help in either program. So there are two things I would like to know: Either: add a brush to the stroke of the text frame in APub or, being able to add/change color and brush of fill/stroke of text frame in Designer. Anyone know how to do it? What panel or menu have I not been able to find?.... Thanks in advance The first image is from Designer /(studiolink) - the second from Publisher
  13. This update also speeds up inpainting brush on Win10. Instant on small stroke! Thanks for working hard to better all the programs
  14. I have discovered a rather cumbersome workaround. I print the PDF through a third party PDF software printer. I get really nice quality and go from files size 120mb to roughly 5mb. But I loose the hyperlinks added to images. Then I open the PDF in publisher which it does really nice and smooth, add the links to the pages that I need, and then export the document using APu PDF export function and I get the good quality images and hyperlinks and the small file size... Tedious, but it's necessary as this is a portfolio I want to email to people/customers so small size is necessary and good image quality equally so.
  15. I also experienced extremely large PDF export with bad compression and quality in the file compared to exporting printing to a third party software PDF printer. Unfortunately links will not not included in print PDF function but only in export function. Any insights in a work around would be appreciated...
  16. @ashf If I open the same designer document in Publisher and press print it crashes. I do not recall if creating spreads based on Designer artboards or not makes a difference. But if I make a document in Publisher with multiple pages/spreads I have not experienced problems. Not sure what the issues are.
  17. @BofG I did not mean to criticize - and we agree on the need to take care of their user base, that has jumped ship from other programs t use this for the professional work.
  18. Give them some credit I am sure the development team is doing whatever they can to amend bugs and some bugs are more important than others. I think the amount of resources they have compared to the amount of feedback they get is not in favor of them. Bugs, requests for new features, running a business, making tutorials, answering our questions etc. The amount of work required for developing this suite of software is massive and from my point of view I am grateful for their even if it's not 95% fool proof, but I like it far better than the competition. Cheers
  19. Seems not. I just created a new document from scratch, and it works / so the LUTs are applied in the PDF print... although I am not sure the documents are made in the same color space. Will have to experiment a bit more. Strange
  20. Cool. I send it for you to investigate. I have tried applying the LUTs in different ways but it does not show up either way when printing or exporting. Thanks for speedy reaction and keep up the great work
  21. That is a bit harsh... It's not useless. I tried to replicate the bug from scratch but unable. I made the original design in Affinity Designer, have made countless changes in the process before settling on this, and eventually this happens; that grouping this changes the font size. However: If I just make the same layout directly without all the trial and error, grouping causes no issues. But random errors are annoying.
  22. I have experienced in both Designer and Publisher 1.9 that grouping objects sometimes changes the font size of the text. It does seem It does not seem to connected to the font, but maybe rather to some changes I have done to the font (scaling, size, color etc). I do not remember all the changes but here is a look at what happens. The left is ungrouped objects. The right is objects grouped - that is the only difference between the two sides.
