  1. My apologies. I grossly overthought this. I made a solid background that was one rectangle for front and back. What it should have been was two rectangles for the background that overlap at the center of the spine. Each is aligned with the outer edge and the total image width is adjusted based on spine width. There is no need for a control such as I was looking for when I approach it right. Close the ticket already.
  2. I am using the Lulu 8.5x8.5 Soft Cover templates from the Resources section of Lulu.com. They are PSD format - Affinity Publisher will read it just fine.
  3. I cannot find the controls to set the size of the spine for my book cover. I find the cover spine layer, but no controls to adjust it. Transform is grayed out.
  4. This is now showing with other files in other programs. Sorry to have bothered this forum with it.
  5. I thought I posted this, but don't see it and have had no responses. IF this is a dup0licate - I apologize and need to learn how to find my own posts. Image files that have had the DPI changed in Affinity Photo [or Corel PSP] with the size reset to it's original size, when imported into Affinity Publisher show different DPO [and in some cases not the same for both dimensions]. The printer [Lulu] notes this as an issue. How, please, do I get Affinity Publisher to not change these settings?
  6. Paragraph 1 - it is also verified in File Manger when the operation is performed in Affinity Photo.
  7. I reset the DPI of all images to be inserted in my Affinity Publisher file to 300 in either Affinity Photo or Corel PSP, and maintain the original size of the image in pixels, the crop or otherwise edit as needed. This is verified in File Manager > Properties and Corel PSP Image information. However, in Affinity Publisher, the imported images all show a much higher dpi, mostly to nearly always well above 600. The printer [Lulu] reports this in its file upload utility, as does Affinity Publisher. How, please , do I correct this?
  8. Windows 11. Affinity Suite 2.x [current] [1] Last week I saved my publisher project w/ control-S several times during the day only to find the next morning that none of that day' work had saved. This happened for t days running, then I took to keeping File Manager open while saving and verified that the time stamp updated. It happened once yesterday, then seemed to behave properly. Is this a known issue? Would using the File > Save menu be more dependable? [2] Working with the same document with Affinity Photo, after editing an Affinity generated TIFF both Control -S and export TIFF will seem to save or export but the file will not show in File Manager. IF I repeat the process the Save As window will show the file as existing. This issue has not been seen with other programs.
  9. Since my end product is never an APhoto or ADesign file, everything I make must be exported. I find it virtually impossible to construct Control-Alt-Shift-S on the keyboard, so I must use the dropdown menu and mouse down to the proper location. What makes the most sense to me is a context menu with buttons for all the file tab options.
  10. Grrrrr. Change one little number in the PS name I go blind. And feel the fool. Thanks for not pointing out how obvious my error is. I think I'll go read a primary grade reader for a while and try to get over it. Maybe a comic book is my speed. I really do feel the dunce.
  11. Just as the version 2.1 update was released my machine broke and I am working with Affinity Photo in a new version, under [to me] a new OS (Windows 11) on new hardware, and I have a new behavior that I need to fix. Export only offers a PNG format. No other format is offered. Is this fixable, and if so, please, how?
  12. Primarily for Affinity Photo, but applicable to all 3 programs: In Photo at least 90% of my output is exported. A button adjacent to Save for exporting would be really appreciated.
  13. Publisher V1. I need to suppress the page numbers for the last few pages of a book. I've not found it in the tutorials. Help, Please.
  14. As with the suggestion for an animation application, I could use a Serif Website Editor. As with animation it could certainly integrate well with the existing suite. Looking at the market, there seems to me to be a lot of website work being done.
  15. Alas - I saw no popup warning. I thought I had set the document for pictures to be imported not linked. Where do I look for that setting when the document is already started?
  16. Following the insertion of photos in the document, saving at the end of the day and reopening the next day, photos are blurred as if the dpi had been shrunk. Size remains as defined in the insert photo frame. All of these pictures were shot at 96 dpi the document was defined s 300 dpi. This is a second edition of this book; first time I did not have this and the photos were done the same then. MASSC Challenge 2020 Spread.afpub
  17. I am trying to link text frames across pages. When I click in the Blue [or red] arrow on the lower right side of the text box [page 3] I get the icon shown in tutorials, but when I move it toward the target text frame the cursor changes to an i-beam with the callout "0 OBJECTS". 18. Is there a tutorial on Affinity Publisher for web page production? Must all the web pages in one file be the same size?
  19. My thanks. Decrepicity has again prevented me from not seeing what is clearly in front of my nose. And I really did look there before posting. Paint me a bit embarrassed.
  20. I probably phrased the question wrong. I know what they do but cannot find the control to make them.
  21. Second Affinity Publisher project - new edition of the same book I've done it - and can't find how: dotted, non printing guide lines which I think go on a master page. How, please, do I make these?
  22. I saw something about font availability and wanted to see what is there to download. I cannot log in, and am not sure what account I should be and am using [same thing?] and it says I have an Affinity ID account, but it doesn't accept the password and when I change it, and it's accepted, it rejects the new password. Which makes me wonder if I am changing the password on the right account. I think I need to know what accounts there are [besides Forum, which works OK] and what to do to make each work. What my records show are accounts for Photo & Designer but not Publisher [though all three are licensed and in use], Forum and Affinity ID, which something wanted me to set up today but which, when setup, didn't accept the password.
  23. Looks as it the answer to my question was, again, outside the box, and already available. Thanks!
