    I do agree, Alex - I also think that case 'C' is acting wrongly and I'll look into it.

    I know they seem like the same thing, but Divide is actually an algorithm on top of geometry operations, rather than a geometry operation itself - it automates the process of doing subtractions and intersections for the user. So, the algorithm used in the Divide operation needs some attention for this particular case, but at least the the curves it gives back are correct (which is the bit that I've changed recently, so I'm relieved it succeeds in that respect!) ;)

    Hey ABC,

    Too easy! I realize that I got lost in the stroke and missed the gap. Removing the stroke and then duplicating, rotating at the gap I needed, was all I needed in this case.

    Thanks for helping me see the gap.

    Well, I would also say, that there are several weird things in connection with the “Shear” input field:
    First off, I would call this “Slant” (or “Oblique”) and not “Shear” … I would say, the latter term is not used very frequently in typography. Secondly, it seems strange, how differently the slant values are computed on the Character panel and on the Transform panel … see below: same glyphs, converted to curves one time … Thirdly, what I find very counter-intuitive as well: negative values result in slanting the glyphs to the right. That’s very strange … compare Indesign’s behavior. What do you think?  :unsure:

    Of course, cdaleyart,

    you can create different types of custom brushes in Draw Persona and in Pixel Persona. Just use the three-stripes menu of the respective Brushes panel …

    Cheers, Alex  :)

    No, you are not doing anything wrong. That's how its currently working.
    It's still buggy because the undo transforms are being calculated taking in account the original document dimensions, but the displayed image is the finished crop (not he original document we started with). So it should be displaying the original uncropped image as soon as we go one step backwards in Crop History.

    Issue logged to be fixed.

    Okay, sorry, Madame …  :(

    Use the Triangle Shape Tool, and make sure that the bounding box of the triangle you create is twice as wide as high. Then place the first triangle according to the intended start position (think of how the entire figure could be created by rotating the triangle round the center). Now create a copy, hold Shift (thereby constraining the rotation angle), rotate the copy and move it to the intended second position (make sure to snap to object bounding boxes). Then just hit Cmd+J, thereby invoking the power duplicate feature, as shown here:

    Hope that helps …  :)

    Hi Gear Maker,

    It is not currently possible to change the blend mode of a stroke. It has to be changed for the entire object, however someone has requested this feature before so it may be implemented in the future. In regards to hiding bounding boxes and path indicators this is another feature that has been requested before and got a reply from one of our developers. You can see more about that here. I hope this helps :)

    The request is to undo the crop to the latest crop's grid position/size (for further adjustements), rather than to the begining of the whole crop process.

    Exactly, that would be great …  :)

    I know that the Crop Tool does have a dedicated history of its own now, but that does not work too well … I could upload a video, but I reached the upload limit, and some of the older topics where I had put videos in the past, are not available for deleting attachments anymore …  :unsure:

    I believe @manuschwendener.ch is requesting this feature, that is, the ability to undo crop steps rather than the whole crop action. This comes from a previous feature request thread that was archived from the pre-release Betas of Affinity Photo, but wasn't implemented.
    The request is to undo the crop to the latest crop's grid position/size (for further adjustements), rather than to the begining of the whole crop process. Unless i'm mising something here. Maybe we should move this to the Feature Requests thread...

    C’mon guys, it’s much easier to do the second thing …  ;)

    Use the fantastic Power Duplicate feature. Simply duplicate your object by Opt+Drag (or Cmd+J), move it to the desired position, and “power duplicte” it by hitting Cmd+J the desired number of times … see my movie …   :)

    Does anyone have a suggestion of how to efficiently set blending modes of a stroke?

    AD has the great feature of live viewing of the blending modes as they are changed but the blue line showing the path covers the stroke.  Holding down the space key stops being able to change blending modes.  So the live mode is useless.

    Again this program would be so much better/easier/friendly with a command to hide the bounding box and path indicators.

    How about also organizing the Adjustments menus in the same way, by type of Adjustments, like the Live Filters are organized. Really helps usability and polish of the app...

    I love the Live filters being organized via the pop-up menu accessible from the bottom of the Layers palette, the little hourglass (?) shaped icon...

    1. How about removing the word Filter from the menu list for the sake of a cleaner and easier to read menu?

    2. Same goes for Layer > New Live Filter Layer > XYZ Filter

    It makes quickly finding what one is looking for much easier if there is not redundant info to read... thanks for your consideration.

    Yeah Alex, I also reported that Baseline shift exhibits the same odd behavior where negative values raise the baseline shift for some reason...   :wacko:

    I just chalked it up to the Affinity guys being wacky euros, something with being on the other side of the Atlantic...  :P

    I am loving the character and paragraph palettes!

    But I have a few issues to point out…

    First up, I can absolutely reproduce this one. Interestingly, using the Opt+arrow shortcuts will adjust kerning correctly without affecting the adjacent characters…

    Secondly: both palettes are a bit less compact than Adobe's, though I can certainly live with that. And I can appreciate how convenient and obvious the selectively collapsible subcategories are, compared with the random and unintuitive “two/three/n stages” method of revealing information by clicking on that cryptic, microscopic double-arrow tab button used by Adobe. It may not be the most space-saving layout, but it's certainly more elegant, so good call, I say! It kind of reminds me of Macromedia's palettes, actually. ;)

    As for the “list” view, or list box for Tab Stops… Well, that may be a bit too much on the compact side. I will certainly miss Adobe's floating tab panel (though I always had to edit them manually anyway, as I didn't have much freedom when picking values by clicking the ruler). If you do keep this interface, there are two or three things you should definitely add, plus a bugfix:

    A way to see which kind of tab each one is, directly from the list;

    A way to fully edit each tab (instead of just allowing you to change its value)… Maybe by, upon double-clicking the tab on the list, allowing you to edit all parameters and change the “add new tab stop” button into a “commit changes” button?;

    Some kind of visible feedback, right in the text frame itself by means of a “ghost guideline” (not unlike Adobe's apps already do), when adding/editing each tab (though having a full-fledged, dedicated tab panel would be the best choice anyway);

    And, finally, a fix for a bug I found in this current tab list box. At present it isn't scrollable at all with mouse gestures (nope, I tried, and nothing happens, I don't even get a scroll bar). If you click and drag on the list items themselves you can actually scroll below/above the fold (and you also can, then, grab the corresponding scroll bar – which is, by default and just like all of its peers, invisible to multi-touch pointing device users until they trigger a scroll operation, as you know), but that is rather unintuitive.

    Oh, and by the way, said listbox is not very visible. The only giveaway for me was OS X's default striped pattern for list backgrounds, but I'm not really sure if that is enough… Maybe there should be at least a line separating the list from the right side of the panel? Or maybe the striped pattern should have a bit more contrast?

    Anyway, bring on multiple artboards, and I will be a much happier camper! I may soon start transitioning to AD as a first choice for most of my jobs, instead of just the off gradient stuff I've been using it for until now. :)
