  1. LMAOOOOO Serif, in almost a decade of nonstop begging from the user base, hasn’t been able to implement basic, VITAL tools such as image/vector trace, variable fonts, or RTL writing, and now you guys are asking for AI. 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, maybe in 40 years when everyone has AI microdermal implants that set software preferences to the user with one tap, Affinity might start looking into adding an archaic version of it.
  2. At least Serif is not Ableton, at least not yet. After spending my teenage years learning how to use Ableton Live with… ehm… shared copies of their program, one of the first things I bought with my first paychecks was the, at the time, brand new Ableton Live 9 Suite and an Ableton Push 2, which is a MIDI interface/instrument that REQUIRES Ableton Live to work. Everything was all laughter and rainbows until I activated the software and I saw a pop-up saying something like "Congratulations for activating Ableton Live! You can use this license: 2 more times." And I was like: OK? I might have no issues since this thing is probably linked to my hardware ID. Oh boy, it wasn’t. I format my PC every 6 months or after shipping a big project. It’s therapeutic for me, but Ableton isn’t too fond of formatting The software that cost me $449 which was necessary to use the physical instrument, was no longer usable, and by extension, neither the instrument. I went back to having no license in less than a year. And yeah, Ableton might just help you with a new code after a nice, intrusive interview and a friendly warning that you shouldn’t format again if you want to keep using their software. Guess who went back to the shady old websites. 🥷
  3. It’s 2020 and people can’t be bothered to learn the software they want to use for their professional work. I mean, how much time passed between you had all those questions, you toyed around with the program, you signed up to these forums, posted and waited until you got a reply? You could’ve read the documentation and watched the whole video tutorial series by Serif in one night before bed, especially since you say you already are familiar with the desktop version. You could’ve blazed trough the documentation looking for differences between both versions but I guess it’s easier to ask people around and then answer with cheeky replies.
  4. Hi! I just jumped into Affinity Designer for iPad. I immediately found two things that disappointed me a lot. Table changes color after adding a new artboard. For someone who spends 16+ hours daily behind screens for a living, having a dark mode or the ability to select a darker scheme is a must and most of the times, a dealmaker. I loved the dark UI but why does it needs to change to light gray after I add a new artboard? In the desktop version there’s an option to change that behavior but not in the iPad version. So far the solution is to create a huge black vector square, lower the opacity, lock the layer and create everything on top of that. The artboard names are always on display. I would make them appear only when the user activates the artboard tool. So far, everything else has been working like a charm. Greetings!
