  1. I recorded everything I did, and managed to catch the problem. Please see the attached screen capture. I can't really provide a specific file because the issue is intermittent. The sequence that I typically use and where the problem arises: create a set of lines at a 30 degree angle draw a set of curves of varying thicknesses across this triangular area, each a different color to help select later expand stroke on the curves copy and mirror the curves set the center point of the set of curves duplicate and rotate the curves repeatedly select all curves of a particular color, and use shape-builder to join them into the desired shape repeat for each color select and delete the "left over" portions in the layer menu. Sometimes this will crash. Thanks for taking a look! RPReplay_Final1671248392.MOV
  2. Are you using the latest release version? Yes. Can you reproduce it? Sadly, I can't reliably cause the issue. It's frustratingly frequent and intermittent. Does it happen for a new document? Yes. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following: What is your operating system and version: iPad Air 4th Gen running iOS 16.1.1 (20B101) using Apple Pencil 2 Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? No such setting What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) I create intricate interwoven geometric patterns using the ShapeBuilder. Starting with the pencil tool, I draw lines which I then "expand stroke", make copies, rotate, and then use the ShapeBuilder to combine them. There are "left over" pieces after I use the Shape Builder, which I delete by hitting the trash bin icon in the Layer manager. Every so often, the app crashes when I delete one of these layers. Any unusual hardware: Nothing, other than Appel Pencil. Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? It works most of the time.
  3. It is a good question, but it is one of the things I checked. Here's what I see when I look at a lower-level. The directory names in the iCloud drive are: $ ls -l ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents ... drwxr-xr-x 4 libelle staff 128 Jul 15 20:20 6XXXXXXX99~com~seriflabs~affinity drwxr-xr-x 4 libelle staff 128 Jul 17 13:01 6XXXXXXX99~com~seriflabs~affinitydesigner ... (Not sure whether the initial digits in the directory name have any significance, so I redacted them. They are the same for each directory). I guess it's not such a big deal, though. After an additional restart, I can manually navigate to the other directory, and it's syncing correctly again.
  4. On my Desktop, I enabled the Affinity Design app in iCloud, and did the same on my new iPad. The iPad can't see any of the files from the desktop, however, and vice-versa. When I look in iCloud settings from the iPad, the files from the iPad are saved in a folder called "Affinity Photo," not Designer. The folder from the Desktop shows up as just "affinity" without a proper icon (see attached screen shot). Using the iCloud web interface or the Desktop to look at iCloud Drive, I see the "Affinity Designer" folder, not the "Affinity Photo" folder. The iPad and Desktop are both on the most recent versions of the OS and the Affinity Design software. I've tried restarting all devices. I don't think I did anything unusual when setting things up. This is the first time I've used iCloud for anything serious. Is this a bug? Did I do something boneheaded? Any suggestions?
  5. Thanks for the update! Sorry to post a known issue -- I looked in the forum, but must have used the wrong search terms, as I didn't find it reported.
  6. Problem: items split with the boolean "divide" operation don't merge back together correctly using the "add" operation. Simplest steps to reproduce: (or see attached file for example that brought issue to my attention, or watch attached video for clarification) Create two concentric circles Subtract inner circle from outer circle Copy new "donut" and offset from original "Divide" two shapes Delete several segments "Add" remaining arcs Shape should be continuous outline, but is not. 7. Loosely inspired by detail from some Art Deco buildings from the 30s in downtown Los Angeles.
  8. I often use guide lines when trying to make symmetric curves. I use them for positioning both nodes, and node handles. It would be nice if, when I have a node selected, I could create new guide lines without having to deselect/lose the node handles.
  9. Good to know. Thanks for the update.
  10. I have some design assignments that will use mixed text with English and languages that use Right-to-Left scripts. Unless I'm mistaken, I can't switch directions within a Text Frame. This necessitates either layering in text in post (using another program), or laboriously breaking the text into multiple sections and aligning the words manually. Having the ability to switch directions midstream would be very helpful!
  11. I'm a brand new user, and have been enjoying Affinity Designer. I haven't yet explored beyond the "Draw" Persona, but in many ways, the program hearkens back to the simplicity and power of the MacDraw / Claris Draw programs, but brought into a more modern world. I've been playing around with geometric tilings. This design has hundreds if not thousands of curves and filled areas, and I haven't really run into any performance problems (yet). I'm looking forward to seeing how far I can go with this!
